I am a Gastronomy Graduate and since 2002, I have worked in restaurants and hotels around the world (USA, France, Spain, Curaçao), always welcoming, serving, and in contact with people from all over the world. I am passionate about learning and knowing about stories, traditions, cultures, and obviously gastronomy, which makes me want to share everything that is best about our city. I am a licensed tour guide in Rio by EMBRATUR, the Brazilian Institute of Tourism, and have been a private guide in Rio de Janeiro since 2013, having carried out hundreds of private tours of Rio, and have become more and more in love with my city and with my job as a Rio Tour Guide. I am fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese, and have a BA in Social Communication. When I'm not guiding, I enjoy writing, reading, spirituality, hiking and studying languages (I also speak intermediate French). “Wonderful experience”
Due to a last minute illness, Israel filled in for Raphael. I appreciate Raphael for not canceling the tour and instead finding us a replacement guide who was wonderful This was a wonderful tour in Rio. We hit the main sites in a comfortable van with a great driver. Israel made sure we hit all the spots and take the best pictures in the most efficient way - something I couldn’t do on my own. Additionally, he kept our two young kids engaged, and kept an eye on my 80 year old mother - finding her places to sit in line, and making sure she got up all the stairs safely It was a wonderful day and was a dream to see all these sites in one day. Highly recommended!

“Full Day Tour in Rio”
We had a great full-day tour with Alan, his local knowledge was invaluable, navigating the different districts of Rio de Janeiro, and we saw everything on the itinerary, and even squeezed in a great seafood lunch together, after one of Alan's great restaurant recommendations. Having his own car was a great bonus, being able to just hop to each district, park, stop for a while, and move on again quickly and easily. Would certainly recommend Alan for your next trip to Rio!
