“You Only Get a Driver, Not a Tour Guide”

The good: very comfortable minivan and capable driver who got us where we needed to go. Also, the locations/itinerary were very enjoyable, especially the Peak and harbor. The Not-So-Good: this is advertised as having an English-speaking driver/tour guide. We got neither. Our driver advised the moment we met that he spoke almost no English and only drove. A guide informs you and shares interesting info. Ours did not and didn’t try to in either English or via Google Translate even when we asked questions. Communication before the tour was also nerve-wracking as there were limited responses from the tour company through GoWithGuide when we hadn’t heard from the driver. We were about to cancel when the driver finally messaged us three minutes before our scheduled meeting time. Also, at the end of the tour, the driver wanted us to reimburse him about $30 USD for tolls and parking fees, even though the terms of the tour say that tolls are included (and are silent as to parking). Apart from the above, we really enjoyed Hong Kong and we always felt that the driver got us to places safely. He also responded well via message app WA during the tour when we wanted to be picked up (he responds in English because he can translate/understand your message via translator app). You just have to be aware that you are spending quite a bit of money (almost $500 for us) just for a driver, not a guide/tour, let alone an English-speaking one as advertised. You might do better just using Uber/taxis to get to these places.

We are truly sorry for the misunderstanding. I’ll revise our service description to clearly specify that overtime, parking and certain cross-area costs are excluded. “Wonderful tour in Shenzen ”

Out tour with Mei was fantastic! Even before the tour started she helped us with great tips, also advising for the best shopping deals in the eletronic markets in Shenzen. Her profissional experience in the IT industry is a great advantage for understanding the Chinese innovation ecosystem, from robots to drones and driverless cars. She is also very attentive and her world-class English speaking skills made everything smooth. We are thankful and plan to come back for another tour soon!

Apple was a pleasure to be with! Nothing was too much trouble. We changed our minds about what we wanted to do several times during the day and she was more than accommodating. Kind. smart. knowledgable about her City Shanghai. Her English was exceptional too. She worked with western companies for 10 years so spent a lot of time talking with English speakers and I could tell. I thought she was amazing.
