Our tour with Xavier was exceptional. Xavier's background is in urban planning and his passion is history of Chinese culture, architecture and engineering. This has led him to work on Chinese Ministry of Culture directed projects of historical significance, which in itself is fascinating. Xavier's command of English is accomplished, he is patient, empathetic and above all, guest focussed as he constantly seeks to identify your subjects of interest. I chose Xavier for this tour because of his self assessed passion for Chinese history and architecture and it is certainly true. I recommend Xavier highly and in particular, suggest you book him at the beginning of your trip to Beijing as his insights provide an important foundation for the rest of your time in this amazing city.

“Full Day Forbidden City”

I had a wonderful time spending the day with Xuan at the Forbidden City. She is very knowledgeable and has many visual aids to help explain what I was seeing. Xuan was engaging and interesting. She strived to ensure that the tour was tailored to my interests. We were able to explore some areas with lesser crowds to appreciate the site and gain appreciation in a quieter atmosphere. I would highly recommend choosing Xuan if you are planning a trip to Beijing and want to get immersed in the culture. Thank you for a great day!

Thank you Michael for your kind review! It was such a pleasure to spend the day with a curious guest like you, who is truly fascinated by Chinese history and culture. The Forbidden City is just the start! Beijing has other UNESCO World Cultural Heritage sites, for example, the Summer Palace. Its landscape of hills and lakes was carefully crafted during the Qing Dynasty for royal retreats. If you ever come back, we can also try more hands-on experiences, like a cooking tour or a traditional painting class. Beyond Beijing, China boasts incredibly diverse destinations, and travel here is affordable. You could easily spend two weeks exploring varied landforms and the rich cultures of different ethnic groups. Please do share your experience in China with your friends. “A day of exploring made easy”

We appreciated the help from Heidi to discover more about Guangzhou than we could ever do on our own. She worked with me to plan an itinery to explore some of the old parts of Guangzhou as well as show us some of the new. It was great that we were able to travel by the Metro (very cost effective!) as well as cover off a few highlights of what is a very interesting city. She even helped my husband get a new watch, which would have been really hard for us to do on our own. Having struggled to look around the city on our own, we both felt having a private guide like Heidi was a really good option to allow us to get the most of our transit stopover there. We particularly appreciated her staying with us until we got the Metro out to the airport so we didn't take the wrong connection. It made things simple!
