“An Exceptional Day from Luxor to Aswan – Highly Recommended”

We had an absolutely fantastic day with Hamada (our Egyptologist and guide) and Mohamed (our driver) travelling from Luxor to Aswan via Esna, Edfu and Kom Ombo. I honestly couldn’t recommend them highly enough! From the outset, everything was seamless. We were picked up promptly at 8am, and the vehicle was spacious, clean and incredibly comfortable. There were cold waters and biscuits waiting for us, with refreshments provided throughout the day. Lunch was also included in our package, as requested, and was delicious. Hamada was an outstanding guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable, clearly passionate about Egyptian history and explained everything in such an engaging and accessible way. After several days of visiting temples and learning about ancient Egypt, we were perhaps experiencing a little knowledge fatigue, but Hamada somehow kept us interested and engaged throughout the entire day! What really set him apart was his genuine thoughtfulness and willingness to go above and beyond. He helped me negotiate a great price on a scarf I particularly liked, proactively contacted our hotel to update them on our arrival time, and was constantly offering assistance, answering questions and making sure we were comfortable. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Mohamed was equally wonderful. He was a fantastic driver, navigating a very long day on the road with professionalism and care. We felt completely comfortable and looked after throughout the journey. Visiting Esna, Edfu and Kom Ombo temples along the way was a brilliant way to break up the journey and make the most of what would otherwise have been a full day of travel. This was genuinely effortless, interesting and enjoyable day. I would wholeheartedly recommend Hamada and Mohamed to anyone making this journey!

“If you book, confirm who will actually be guiding you.”

I spent a lot of time researching private tours of Abu Simbel and was excited to book with Ali. Unfortunately, it turned out he doesn’t actually guide the Abu Simbel tours, and we were passed along to someone else, the messaging/language was not clear when Ali & I were chatting. Our driver picked us up at the airport and then handed us off to a man who introduced himself as the “tour guide assistant.” When we asked where our guide was, he just kept telling us to wait and watch a video. We had no idea what was going on. Only after he brought us inside did we see our guide finishing up a tour with another group. We paid one hundred fifty dollars for this, and we still had to buy our own entry tickets and own water (which was not a big deal but still, it's the principles). The guiding itself added nothing beyond the public information we’d already read about the site; it was almost word for word the same. For the price, we would have been better off hiring a taxi from the airport and exploring on our own.

“Very sweet and nice guide ”

Sarah was very knowledgeable about Caïro and showed us all the sightseeing we had asked for. She told us also many things about daily life in Egypt, very interesting. She is a very sweet person and ready to help in any way. Contact with her before the trip was easy as she was very responsive. She had a good driver who had an excellent new car to drive us around. I would certainly recommend using Sarah as a guide to Cairo.
