Fenicians, Romans, Muslims, Christians, Jews, all those passes through Lisbon, changed the city and left their marks: the alphabet, the numbers, the architecture, the tiles, the poetry, the wine and the pastry. Come and join in a walking tour through Alfama, the neighborhood where Fado was born, the Cathedral, where the old mosque is buried, and the Jewish quarter. 1 day notice to Lisboa and Sintra and Mafra
Hello. My name is Marisa and I am a tour guide in the ancient, mysterious and beautiful city of Lisbon. Lisbon is an ancient city and Phoenicians, Romans, Muslims, Catholics passed through this city all left their mark in heritage, words and food. Lisbon was also a city of spies. Even the real James Bond ( yes, it was a real James Bond) lived here and worked here.
So, if you want to join me in this journey, I offer you, in Lisbon, 2 tours: a tour to discover the old town of Lisbon and a spy tour, focusing on world war II. But if you want to experience a magical place, I'll take you
to Pena Palace. Pena Palace is a must-see, in the beautiful, romantic and world heritage, Sintra Village.
And in the end, before you leave Portugal, I promise you will understand the true meaning of the Portuguese word Saudade.
See you soon. Goodbye or Adeus!
“A Fantastic Journey into Lisbon's World War II Espionage Scene”
We spent two fascinating hours with Marisa on her Spy Tour, walking the streets of Lisbon to see the historic meeting places and hotels of some of the city's most famous World War II spies. Marisa is so knowledgeable and an entertaining storyteller. We learned all about Agent Garbo and "Duško" Popov and the inspiration behind Ian Fleming's James Bond character. Marisa also gave us great insight into the atmosphere of Lisbon during the war, and how Salazar, Portugal's then dictator, navigated the tricky waters of neutrality. Marisa's expertise and enthusiasm for the topic shone. Her tour was one of the highlights of our trip. We highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in Lisbon's World War II history and in the history of wartime espionage. Thanks, Marisa!
