“Good driver but misleading experience ”
We booked what was advertised on GoWithGuide as a “private tour” of Singapore, expecting cultural insights, historical commentary, and meaningful guidance. Instead, what we got was a car with a driver, polite and punctual, but nothing resembling a guided tour. The listing was under “Singapore Private Tour” and promised “memorable guided experiences,” “extensive knowledge of hidden gems,” and “personalized journeys.” Nowhere was it made explicitly clear — especially not on mobile — that this would be driver only. As a customer unfamiliar with local licensing laws, there was no reason to assume that “tour” didn’t include a guide. I even messaged the supplier in advance expressing interest in a culture/history-focused tour. At no point was this clarified. A clear opportunity to manage expectations was missed. To make matters worse, I was later charged for an extra hour — despite asking the driver during the tour how long we had him for, and being told “there is no limit.” No mention was made that the 5-hour booking had a cutoff time or that additional charges would apply. GoWithGuide’s support responses felt robotic and dismissive, more focused on shielding themselves than addressing real customer dissatisfaction. They have since admitted the listing was unclear and updated it — but took no ownership for the experience mismatch. The supplier showed little interest in resolution and was primarily focused on collecting the extra fee. Their communication placed blame on the platform and offered no accountability or goodwill. Bottom line: This was a transportation service marketed as a tour. If you’re expecting a real guided experience, ask very specific questions — because they won’t clarify until it’s too late.

Dear Ryan, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your experience with our service on April 21, 2025. We genuinely appreciate all customer feedback as it helps us improve. We're sorry to hear that there was a misalignment between your expectations and the service provided. While we're glad to hear that you found Danny to be "patient, reliable and flexible" with "good driving," we understand your disappointment regarding the nature of the service. To clarify a few points: Service Description: Our service is clearly described as a "Chauffeur Tour (Driver Only)" on our listing. The term "chauffeur" specifically indicates a professional driver service without tour guide commentary. We do understand that industry terminology can sometimes be confusing for customers, and we've worked with GoWithGuide to make this distinction even clearer in our listings. Time Limits: The service you booked was explicitly for 5 hours starting from pickup time, as stated in our booking confirmation. When our driver mentioned having no other bookings afterward, this was to indicate flexibility in continuing the service if needed, not that additional time would be provided at no cost. Additional Hour: The timestamps in our system show that the service extended one hour beyond the booked 5-hour period (as indicated by the "Start 1043 - 1624 End" message in our communication), which is why an additional charge was applied according to our standard rates. We value transparency and clear communication with all our customers. Based on your feedback, we're taking additional steps to ensure future customers have crystal-clear expectations about the nature of our services: Working with booking platforms to enhance service descriptions Implementing a pre-tour confirmation message that outlines exactly what is and isn't included Ensuring our drivers clearly explain time limits and additional charges at the start of service

“Familiar yet new”
Caleb made the trail interesting and enriching as he shares from his knowledge and experience. He enhanced the whole experience by using old archival shots of places visited and shared many interesting facts and stories about places that are familiar but filled with rich history that I was not aware of. It was an enlightening journey and I enjoyed it.

Pearlyn, Thanks for your encouraging feedback! Caleb
