If it is your first time visiting Toledo, you will feel the need to understand the city, find your way around and absorb its essence. There is no better way to do this than to explore the city's historic core and discover its monuments and most significant works of art.
Train Station or Bisagra Gate
Must-see monument in a city where the archbishop holds the Primacy of Spain. It is one of the richest and most spectacular in the country (closed on Sunday morning).
Never been moved from its original spot, El Greco's masterpiece was painted especially for this chapel.
A glowing example of the mark made by the Sephardic Jews in Toledo and a monument, along with the Cathedral, which mustn't be missed.
Designed to be the royal pantheon of the Catholic Monarchs, the monastery is one the the most significant monuments in the city.
Zocodover Square
Guide fee
Tickets to monuments (around 18 euros per person) and taxi for the panoramic view if required (13 euros).
If you are coming by train from Madrid (22 euros go and return) I will be waiting for you at the Toledo Train Station, or at the Bisagra Gate if coming by private car.
If by train, we could make a panoramic tour with a taxi to get to the city centre and enjoy the wonderful panoramic view from the other side of the Tagus river (11 euros per taxi. 4 people per taxi). Or, we could get to the old town by walking in a beautiful 15 minutes walk.
We will cross the entire old town during the tour paying visit to the monuments included in the itinerary (tickets not included in the price). Even though the walking tour has a common thread I will make alussion to every simple and important aspect of the city: handycrafts, cultural heritage, evolution of the old town, festivities, etc.
