About Tour Guide Akira.k K.

Hi! Hajimemashite, nice to meet you in Japanese. My nick name is Arti which I got during my assignment in the States. I am a national government licensed guide and qualified tour conductor. I have been working as English speaking guide and translator since 2010 and experienced more than 600 travels. And I am a member of Japan Guide Association with grade A qualification.

My specialty is customized private tour from day trip to 3 week excursion. Also, private tour in motorcycle is in my turf. I have been riding long distance in tens of years in Japan and overseas.

Regarding the tour price, please note that it is my guide fee only, and disregard “per hour” or “per person” prices. I offer in PER TOUR bases only, so please give me your inquiry with specific destinations, spots, itinerary, group size and privatized transportation if chosen, and let's start planning your customized journey together.

Very Professional Guide

I was unable to complete my tour with Akira (Arti) as I ended up not feeling well on the day of the event, but wanted to provide a review regardless. All of my correspondence leading up to the day was exceptional and timely and it was clear that Arti was going to provide a very good tour. I would not hesitate to use Arti on a future trip based on his level of professionalism in all of our transactions.

History, Culture, Religion and Shopping - Expertly handled in under 5 hours

My family and I were enjoying our time in Japan, but struggled to really take in the culture and history of such a wonderful country and city (Tokyo). We chose to do an English tour to help us better immerse ourselves. Akira was responsive and worked with me to cover the things I thought myself and my family would enjoy most. Akira communicated well and I never had a problem speaking the entire time in English. We met Akira on time at a metro station five minutes from our hotel, which was very convenient. Akira walked us through the agenda again and we were off, navigating the metro like pros. We chose first to go to a temple, then the Imperial Palace gardens, then to Hirijuku for a special treat and all the shopping we wanted. Throughout the trip Akira talked about the Japanese history, the history of Tokyo and the Imperial Palace. We spent a lot of time talking about culturing and the religions and practices of the Japanese. Akira was fantastic and showed us everything we asked, and more with some surprises. If we had more time, the motorcycle tour sounded like a blast!

Thank you very much for your favorable comments. I’ll make my maximum efforts to improve my tours even further.

Mt Fuji Motorcycle Tour

As the weather was on and off Arti kept in constant communication on go/no go. Everything was a breeze from getting to the Kofu bike shop from Tokyo, renting the bike and the tour itself. Arti is extremely knowledgeable and very kind to stop and explain the history and culture of what we are viewing. 5 star day all around. Next time we will definitely go again with Arti for tours if we are around Japan. Pleasure to have had Arti lead our family on the motorcycle tour.

I am a bilingual local who lives in Japan and enjoys travelling myself. I don't have industry experience specific to tourism per se but do have experience welcoming/entertaining international guests visiting Japan for work. I genuinely love to help people visiting Japan have a fond memory and experience in Japan while they stay. I will do my best to cater to all different requests and needs of customers, whether it is about types of places to visit, dietary preferences/restrictions, etc.

I’m so excited to have a chance to show you around my favorite spots in Kanagawa prefecture. I was born in Kanagawa. I spent my whole school life, including university, here in Kanagawa. I worked as a high school English teacher here for 40 years. I love Kanagawa so much. We have many interesting tourist spots, like Hakone, Kamakura, Enoshima and Yokohama. I got my tour guide license in English in 2009. I am still an English teacher. To give an interesting and impressive lesson to young high school students, I’ve learnt and gathered many kinds of information. I also have a license to teach social studies, so I have a wide range of knowledge about Japanese culture and history. I’m sure to provide you an interesting tour.

Japan

I’ve called Japan home for seven years, embracing everything from Tokyo’s vibrant urban energy to the tranquillity of the countryside. Before becoming a guide, I explored Tokyo like a curious long-term traveller, uncovering unusual temples, quirky landmarks, hidden backstreets, local live music venues, rural mountain villages, and one-of-a-kind cultural gems. My passion lies in crafting immersive journeys that dive deep into Japan’s heart, sparking a sense of wonder and escape that makes travellers feel worlds away from home. I’m excited to guide you through the Tokyo labyrinth. This city is endlessly fascinating—so layered and dynamic that even with a lifetime here, you’d only scratch the surface. I’ll show you how to navigate it like a local, as mastering the transport system isn’t as tricky as it seems, and I’ll help you gain the confidence to explore Tokyo on your own while we focus on the city’s hidden treasures. Together, we can visit parts of Tokyo most travellers overlook—the nostalgic charm of the Shitamachi, the hustle of salaryman districts, the neon-lit buzz of cyber Tokyo, and tranquil local power spots. Let’s discover the city’s hidden depths and create memories that will last a lifetime!
