About Tour Guide Ken T.
I am a bilingual local who lives in Japan and enjoys travelling myself. I don't have industry experience specific to tourism per se but do have experience welcoming/entertaining international guests visiting Japan for work. I genuinely love to help people visiting Japan have a fond memory and experience in Japan while they stay. I will do my best to cater to all different requests and needs of customers, whether it is about types of places to visit, dietary preferences/restrictions, etc.

“Highly recommended”
We visited Tokyo in April 2025 and decided that for the first day it would be best for a guide to show us a few of the 'must see' highlights and navigate the transportation system in this fabulous city. We chose Ken as our guide based on other positive reviews and are happy to say that we also had a wonderful experience. When we were planning our day with Ken, he was always prompt in our communications and was able to arrange the most efficient schedule within the time we had available (and what our legs could endure!). He was very mindful of our pace, not rushing us from one place to another and making sure we were ready to move on. He was also very helpful in taking us to a couple of stores where he knew we could get a few items we needed and to a wonderful restaurant for lunch. He knows the city really well and guided us seamlessly through the maze of subway and train connections (and 'thousands' of stairs!). Ken's English is excellent and he is a real gentleman - he even followed up with us after and offered assistance if needed for our remaining time in the city. Based on our great experience, we unreservedly recommend Ken as a guide to anyone visiting Tokyo.

Thank you very much for being such an accommodating guest and your kind thorough review of the experience. I really appreciate it and it means a lot to me. I am glad that you had a fun and great experience (probably a bit tiring too going through the "stairs" and crowds)! I hope that I was able to assist you even only a little bit while you started to explore and enjoy the fabulous city of Tokyo. Thank you very much!

“Great tour guide Ken! ”
Ken was a great guide, showing us the sights and helping us with all our random questions! Without him we would have not known the correct etiquette at the Shrines and Temples, and understanding the differences. His English was great and he was friendly, kind and accommodating to our needs throughout the day - taking lots of great photos of us along the way. Even got to have a sing along at the Karaoke! I would highly recommend Ken :D

“Best Tour EVER!!! ”
Ken T. was amazing with us. He was on time, very informative, knew the train system and explained everything as he went. Myself and my Son are from the states and he made us feel so welcome in Japan. If you need a tour guide, WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND KEN T.

Hello. I'm Akira.S. I've just finished working as a mentor for new young teachers of public junior high schools after long time career as a teacher. I’m so interested in guiding popular sightseeing spots and also hidden areas in and around Tokyo to you. I love this job because I have a lot of chances to meet nice people from various countries. I'm really looking forward to meeting persons interested in Japanese culture and history like YOU. I really hope you touch Japanese cultures, including Japanese cuisines. I’m coming up with a tour plan based on your interest.

Hello! My name is Grant, and I’ve spent over a decade living and exploring Japan. Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, I first came to Japan as a high school exchange student in Inuyama, a historic castle town in Aichi. My love for Japan began early—sparked by childhood games like Pokémon that were released in Japanese before English. That early curiosity grew into a lifelong passion for Japanese language, culture, and history. I hold an N2 on the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, a degree in Asian Studies from a Tokyo university, and I graduated from the Japan Visual Media Translation Academy. I’ve visited all 47 prefectures and explored a wide range of historical sites, shrines, and castles throughout the country. My background in Japanese history helps me provide context that brings depth and meaning to the places we visit—whether it's understanding a centuries-old temple in Kyoto, the story behind a castle ruin, or uncovering the historical layers of a Tokyo neighborhood. If you’re planning to explore Tokyo, here are some tour options to consider: One day in Tokyo? The Ginza Line Tour offers a great introduction to the city’s highlights. Two days? Pair the East Tokyo Tour and West Tokyo Tour to get a well-rounded experience. Interested in anime? The Anime Tour is flexible and can be tailored to match your specific interests. For those looking to go beyond the city, I also offer day trips to Nikko, Kamakura, and other nearby destinations. While most guests book Tokyo-based tours, I also guide in other regions—especially Kyoto, where I’ve visited every World Heritage Site. I regularly lead tours in Osaka, Nara, Nagoya, Hikone, and other locations easily reached by rail. Multi-day and custom tours are available on request. Full-Day Tour: 40,000 yen (8 hours) Full-Day Tour Outside of Tokyo: 40,000 yen + transportation Feel free to get in touch to plan a tour that fits your interests and travel plans.

I’m so excited to have a chance to show you around my favorite spots in Kanagawa prefecture. I was born in Kanagawa. I spent my whole school life, including university, here in Kanagawa. I worked as a high school English teacher here for more than 40 years. I love Kanagawa so much. We have many interesting tourist spots, like Hakone, Kamakura, Enoshima and Yokohama. I got my tour guide license in English in 2009. I am still an English teacher. To give an interesting and impressive lesson to young high school students, I’ve learnt and gathered many kinds of information. I also have a license to teach social studies, so I have a wide range of knowledge about Japanese culture and history. I’m sure to provide you an interesting tour.
