I'm Kazumi. I am a qualified tour guide.I have been guiding Hiroshima since 2010.
Through guiding Hiroshima, I can give my guests my knowledge of this area and Japanese culture. At the same time, I can learn their understanding of Japan and the differences between our culture and theirs, which is very interesting. I also believe that meeting with local people is the best way to know the area. I was born and grew up in Hiroshima. I am very happy to give you wonderful time and memories in Hiroshima. Miyajima island and Kendama experience
Miyajima Island, one of the most scenic spots in Japan, a romantic and historical island where Itsukushima Shrine, a World Heritage site, is located, along with the Virgin Forest of Mt. Misen, and numerous preserved shrines, temples and historical monuments. Kendama is the Japanese version of the Cup & Ball game. It consists of a handle with several cups and a spike with a ball connected by a length of string. Hatsukaichi city is the birthplace of Kendama. You can enjoy Kendama experience.

“A must see to remind us all of the horrors of war”
The tour was very insightful and full of personal perspective. Kazumi San was well informed, articulate and happy to explore not just the details of the absolutely awful devastation on innocent civilians but also its impacts on the Japanese psyche and their attitudes to war and peace. It was one of the most emotionally impactful parts of the trip and Kazumi San was a wonderful guide.

“Memorable day in Hiroshima”
We had a nice day with Kazumi on our trip to Hiroshima. Right from the time we made our reservation to the time we met her in person, she responded to all our questions. We did not even feel we were talking to an unknown person, she made it very comfortable for our family. She is so patient and nice. “Lovely Day out in Miyajima”
We spent half a day with Kazumi at Miyajima and she was a fantastic host. We met her at the train station in Hiroshima, where she waited for us with a sign (super easy to find). Then an easy JR train and ferry to the island, where she showed us around the sites (see her tour listing). Her English is exceptional (not surprising as she lived in the UK for several years) and she is very knowledgable about the island sites. She wad full of interesting facts about the island and gave us plenty of time to see what we wanted to see. After a great lunch (which she recommended), we waved her off. Overall, a brilliant day and a great host. Thanks Kazumi!

I worked in the Atomic Bomb Survivors Support Division for 12 years until I retired from the local government, and I continue to interact with Hibakusha.
