Miyajima Island, one of the most scenic spots in Japan, has long been regarded as an Island of Gods on the beautiful Seto Inland Sea. It is a romantic and historical island where Itsukushima Shrine, a World Heritage site, is located, along with the Virgin Forest of Mt. Miyajima is a small island less than an hour outside the city of Hiroshima. It is a very romantic and relaxing place. It is most famous for its giant torii gate, which at high tide seems to float on the water. The sight is ranked as one of Japan's three best views.
you can walk around Miyajima to see Itsukushima shrine, in the public's mind. Like the torii gate, the shrine's main buildings are built over water, Five story pagoda and Buddist hall.
you can also visit Daishoin temple, one of the most important temples of Shingon Buddhism. It features a variety of buildings, statues and other religious objects for visitors to admire.
There are also wild deer on the island that have become accustomed to people. In the day the deer wander around the island.
Oyster landed in Hiroshima is very big and thick tasty, and Hiroshima is the number one of landing of oysters in Japan. There are some oyster shops that serve grilled oysters and vinegared fresh oysters to visitors in the Miyajima Island.
Okonomiyaki is the most famous as Hiroshima soul food, cooked with superposition of cabbage, bean sprouts, pork, egg and noodles, which is soba or udon, on thin flour dough spread like crepe.
At low tide, you are able to walk to Otorii Gate but when the tide flows it looks like the shrine is floating on water.

“A Day with Kazumi in Hiroshima.”
My family truly had an amazing day in Hiroshima and nearby Miyajima Island with Kazumi. We now have such an education and appreciation for the horrific story of the bombing. Hiroshima have done so well recovering and helping others learn from their resurgent story. Kazumi’s background knowledge and thoughtful itinerary made these learning personal and unique. Despite the very hot weather, and after a tasty local lunch, we managed to visit Miyajima which is such a spiritual and beautiful place. Thank you Kazumi for spending the time with my wife, boys and I. It will be a day we will cherish and remember. Daniel.

“Amazing tour of Hiroshima”
Kazumi was an outstanding guide. We learned about Hiroshima's Pain, Suffering and Natural Beauty/Order. Moving from here to the sea and Island of Miyajima was cathartic as was needed. The Torii gate by the sea and Daishin temple provided a balance of spiritual and natural solace. Along the way we talked about history, Japanese culture, families, and children. Kazumi shared her great knowledge with us. Her love and pride for Hiroshima and it's history resonated through the entire tour. We would highly recommend hiring her for a day tour.
