Miyajima Island, one of the most scenic spots in Japan, has long been regarded as an Island of Gods on the beautiful Seto Inland Sea. It is a romantic and historical island where Itsukushima Shrine, a World Heritage site, is located, along with the Virgin Forest of Mt. Misen, and numerous preserved shrines, temples and historical monuments.

Miyajima is a small island less than an hour outside the city of Hiroshima. It is a very romantic and relaxing place. It is most famous for its giant torii gate, which at high tide seems to float on the water. The sight is ranked as one of Japan's three best views.
you can walk around Miyajima to see Itsukushima shrine, in the public's mind. Like the torii gate, the shrine's main buildings are built over water, Five story pagoda and Buddist hall.
you can also visit Daishoin temple, one of the most important temples of Shingon Buddhism. It features a variety of buildings, statues and other religious objects for visitors to admire.
There are also wild deer on the island that have become accustomed to people. In the day the deer wander around the island.
Oyster landed in Hiroshima is very big and thick tasty, and Hiroshima is the number one of landing of oysters in Japan. There are some oyster shops that serve grilled oysters and vinegared fresh oysters to visitors in the Miyajima Island.
Okonomiyaki is the most famous as Hiroshima soul food, cooked with superposition of cabbage, bean sprouts, pork, egg and noodles, which is soba or udon, on thin flour dough spread like crepe.
At low tide, you are able to walk to Otorii Gate but when the tide flows it looks like the shrine is floating on water.
This idea to make the temple look different according to the tide will be only found here in Itsukushima shrine.

Hi everyone.
I'm Kazumi. I am a qualified tour guide.I have been guiding Hiroshima since 2010.
Through guiding Hiroshima, I can give my guests my knowledge of this area and Japanese culture. At the same time, I can learn their understanding of Japan and the differences between our culture and theirs, which is very interesting. I also believe that meeting with local people is the best way to know the area. I was born and grew up in Hiroshima. I am very happy to give you wonderful time and memories in Hiroshima. I am really looking forward to hearing from you.

“Simply Fantastic”
My group (4 girls in their 20s) had a wonderful time visiting Hiroshima. Our tour guide was both fun and informative. She was clever to change around the itinerary due to the weather and got us to the island and temple without being drenched with rain. She even found us a yummy vegetarian lunch spot. Highly siggest

“Sunny day in Hiroshima with a delightful host”
After a somber start at the peace park memorial; which is a must see for everyone; we caught a boat ride to Miyajima island for a day filled with sunshine, historical sights and adorable deers. Kazumi was both delightful and insightful host.

“Excellent guide and day in Hiroshima”
This was my second time visiting Hiroshima for the day and also the second time choosing Kazumi as my guide. Kazumi is an excellent guide in every way, customising the itinerary and experience to your needs and the weather. I learnt and experienced so much both times. Kazumi is a skilled conversationalist, as well as being a local Hiroshima woman, well-versed in its history and culture. I think it is important to have a guide to help navigate visiting Hiroshima. There is a lot to take in and process on all levels and Kazumi is well-recommended as a guide to help with all of this. Both times, I travelled from Kyoto to Hiroshima and back in the day and this is very doable as well if it works with your itinerary. My personal thanks to Kazumi for being such an excellent, warm and informative guide and companion on my visits To Hiroshima.

Thank you for your review, Terri. It was a very nice meeting you again. There are more places to show you around in Hiroshima, too. Please send your friend my best regards. I hope I will see you sometime in near future again, maybe in Australia? Thank you again. Kazumi
