you can study what happened to Hiroshima on Aug, 6, 1945 by visiting the Hypocenter, the Atomic bomb dome, the museum and several monuments in the park.
Okonomiyaki is the most famous as Hiroshima soul food, cooked with superposition of cabbage, bean sprouts, pork, egg and noodles, which is soba or udon, on thin flour dough spread like crepe.

The Peace Memorial Museum is currently undergoing renovations, during which only one of the museum's two buildings will be open to visitors and the number of exhibits will be reduced. The renovations are scheduled to be completed by spring 2019.

“Memorable day in Hiroshima”
We had a nice day with Kazumi on our trip to Hiroshima. Right from the time we made our reservation to the time we met her in person, she responded to all our questions. We did not even feel we were talking to an unknown person, she made it very comfortable for our family. She is so patient and nice. “Lovely Day out in Miyajima”
We spent half a day with Kazumi at Miyajima and she was a fantastic host. We met her at the train station in Hiroshima, where she waited for us with a sign (super easy to find). Then an easy JR train and ferry to the island, where she showed us around the sites (see her tour listing). Her English is exceptional (not surprising as she lived in the UK for several years) and she is very knowledgable about the island sites. She wad full of interesting facts about the island and gave us plenty of time to see what we wanted to see. After a great lunch (which she recommended), we waved her off. Overall, a brilliant day and a great host. Thanks Kazumi!
