My name is Miyu. I have been a Nationally Licensed Guide Interpreter since 2009. I began my career as a tourist guide last year after working as a public servant for nearly four decades.
I worked in the Atomic Bomb Survivors Support Division for 12 years until I retired from the local government, and I continue to interact with Hibakusha. Therefore, I have a lot of knowledge about A-bomb survivors, the reconstruction of Hiroshima, and the effects of radiation on the human body, which I can correctly convey to inbound visitors.
I have experience in tea ceremonies and calligraphy and am especially good at guiding visitors through tea ceremony experiences.
I love to watch baseball games, so I enjoy talking about them with guests from countries where they are popular.
I am a volunteer medical interpreter and can respond to visitors' sudden health problems.

“No doubt that Miyu enriched our trip ”
Miyu speaks English fluently, she is a scholar and gives the impression she is happy to share her knowledge. She was very flexible and changed the program to our request very wisely. There was no one question we didn’t get answer. And not less important Miyu is very nice kind and a person you like to spend time with her.

“A patient and flexible guide”
Miyu made everything about our day, easy and perfect. She arrived at our hotel early, guided us to the museum and waited patiently while we meandered, offered thoughtful commentary on the history of Hiroshima, found a wonderful place for us to have udon for lunch, and patiently waited as we took dozens of pictures.

Thank you for your warm review. I'm glad that you and your family were able to enjoy Hiroshima despite the extreme heat. I hope you have another meaningful day in Hiroshima tomorrow.

“Miyu is wonderful ”
Visiting Hiroshima was important to everyone in our group. We went in knowing it would be difficult (it was devastating), but Miyu, with her vast experience and straightforward but compassionate approach was the perfect guide. We all genuinely enjoyed spending the day with Miyu and we learned a great deal. she is an exceptional guide.
