This tour involves spending half a day on the beautiful island of Miyajima. You can enjoy the majestic Itsukushima Shrine and Otorii (Grand Gate) floating on the sea, as well as the unique Daisho-in Temple. You can enjoy delicious grilled oysters, lemonade, and momiji manju on the shopping street. Wild deer will greet you on the streets. Meeting Point
Hiroshima Station or Your hotel
- The ticket gate at Hiroshima Station or the hotel lobby.
Itsukushima Shrine & Torii Gate
Itsukushima Shrine, the sea in front of it, and the ancient forest of Mt. Misen were registered as a World Heritage site. At high tide, the Otorii gate and shrine float in the sea. At low tide, you can feel the magnificence of the Otorii from up close.
Daisho-in Temple
The oldest temple on Miyajima Island. Majestic architecture and unique experiences await you.
Hokoku Shrine & Unique Pine Tree
Let’s take a look at the large, unfinished shrine that has been under construction for over 400 years, and the uniquely shaped pine tree.
Shopping Street
Let’s enjoy momiji manju, a traditional Japanese sweet, oysters, of which Hiroshima is the top producer in Japan, and refreshing lemon juice.

About Tour Guide Miyu F.
My name is Miyu. I have been a Nationally Licensed Guide Interpreter since 2009. I began my career as a tourist guide last year after working as a public servant for nearly four decades.
I worked in the Atomic Bomb Survivors Support Division for 12 years until I retired from the local government, and I continue to interact with Hibakusha. Therefore, I have a lot of knowledge about A-bomb survivors, the reconstruction of Hiroshima, and the effects of radiation on the human body, which I can correctly convey to inbound visitors.
I have experience in tea ceremonies and calligraphy and am especially good at guiding visitors through tea ceremony experiences.
I love to watch baseball games, so I enjoy talking about them with guests from countries where they are popular.
I am a volunteer medical interpreter and can respond to visitors' sudden health problems.

“Miyu is the most knowledgeable guide for Hiroshima ”
We highly recommend that you use Miyu for your tour of Hiroshima. She worked for the Hiroshima department for bomb survivors so she has a deeper insight than a typical guide. She had very good use of the English language and had actually traveled for her work to the United States several times to work with the victims. She was an extremely charming person, and we felt honored to have her as our guide.
