Rabbit Island is home to hundreds of friendly bunnies who approach tourists for food. Once this island was secluded as a secret base of the Imperial Japanese Army to produce lethal gas during WW II. And because of the poison gas development, it is thought that the test subjects included rabbits. After the war, the island restored peace and got well overrun by bunnies to become a Heaven of rabbits. Please enjoy being mobbed by adorable creatures and the beautiful nature there.

“A reflective day in Hiroshima! ”
Mayumi was a very efficient guide who packed in all of the key sites of Hiroshima (including Peace Museum and A-Boomb Memorial) and Miyajima Island (including Unesco site and Tori Gate). This was a great way to see all sites in limited time. Mayumi had good knowledge of all of the important information regarding the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. Our group of 6 ranged in age from 6-70 years old. The kids loved the deers on Miyajima Island.

“What a great day - Hiroshima and Miyajima Island ”
We were very fortunate to have stumbled onto Mayumi as our guide for the day. Communication was great from the start (coordinated day before via WhatsApp) and met us at the station to start our day. In 7.5 hours we covered an extensive amount of places in both Miyajima and Hiroshima - various temples and shrines, museums, peace park, and lots of alleys and streets that we would never have found on our own. Mayumi's detailed knowledge and excellent command of English was appreciated by our entire family. She also managed to keep us on track time wise while also squeezing in some downtime for a mid-afternoon snack to break up the day. I'd highly recommend Mayumi to anyone looking to experience these areas.
