Pick up from your hotel
I will pick you up from your hotel to commence your tour to the Ramsseum Temple. It takes about 40 minutes to get there.
Ramsseum Temple
The Ramesseum Temple is the funerary temple of Pharaoh Ramses II, who ruled Egypt for about 67 years (1279-1213 BC). The name or at least its French form, Ramesseum was coined by Jean Francois Champollion, who visited the ruins of the site in 1829.
The temple is famous for its 17-meter seated statue of Ramses II (of which only fragments remain), it was dedicated to the god Amun and the deceased king. The design of the Ramesseum Temple adheres to the standard canons of New Kingdom temple architecture. Oriented northwest and southeast. The temple itself is comprised of two stone pylons (gateways, some 60 m wide), one after the other, each leading into a courtyard. Beyond the second courtyard, at the center of the complex, was a covered 48-column Hypostyle Hall, surrounding the inner sanctuary.
Tombs of the Nobles
The Tombs of Nobles are scattered in different areas in the west bank of Luxor, for example, Sheikh Abdel-Qurna and Khokha just opposite of the Ramesseum temple, Dra Abu El-Naga, and Asassif nearby Hatshepsut’s Temple and Qurent Maraei just opposite of the Colossi of Memnon.
The tombs of Nobles are visited as a set/group of tombs, and the main subject of the reliefs is everyday life in Ancient Egypt.
Deir El-Madinah
From the Tombs of Nobles to Deir El-Madinah.
Around 4 km south of the Kings Valley lies the Valley of the Artisans or Deir El-Madinah.
The region was given the name Deir El-Madinah or (City Monastery) when its temple was converted to a monastery. The town had been devoted to the Kings’ Valley craftsmen and their families. The community is one of the few still extant ancient settlements. It has more than 74 houses and is divided into two major parts or suburbs.

“Review – Our Luxor Guide Mr. Khalaf.”
Review – Our Luxor Guide Mr. Khalaf. On the GoWithGuide website we sorted through various guides, reading profiles & reviews. We chose Mr. Essam & sent him a message. However, turns out Essam is a guide Team Leader & delegated our 1-day guide trip in Luxor to Mr. Khalaf. Mr. Khalaf was FANTASTIC. On this trip we had 3 guides in total. One guide on the 4-dayt cruise ship & another private GoWithGuide for 2=days in Giza. Of the 3 guides Mr. Khalaf was by far the best. His passionate, almost theatrical enthusiastic presentation brought each visit to life. And he was full of detail, which we liked. Often comparing situations to the Western history for comparison to help us with a greater understanding. We had done some prior homework, reading & watching Youtube about Egypt, but being there in person & having a local enthusiastic guide bring it all to life – was Fantastic. Mr. Khalaf even recommended a tomb of the Nobles, which we found interesting, as we had some extra time, as sadly the tomb of Nefertari in the Valley of the Queens was closed. I would recommend Mr. Khalaf 150%. Always on time, listened to our interests & read our level of comprehension VERY well as he adjusted the daily schedule. A really NICE GUY. “A day around Luxor”
TLDR; A fantastic organization that delivered everything they promised. Mohammed our guide, and our driver were very professional. They met us at the airport and the tour started from our first meeting with Mohammed. A great day seeing everything we wanted to see and then being dropped off at our hotel at the end of the day. Thanks so much Mohammed. I would also like to thank the people behind the scenes who helped organize our Luxor trip. Everyone's communication was a credit to gowithguide
