An amazing day trip from Milan to Lake Como
Let's enjoy a day trip to Lake Como at the feet of the Italian Alps (35 km. from Milan and 2 km. only from the Swiss border). With our driver we first stop in the capital of the region to visit the historical city centre of Como, then with our boat captain let's start a beautiful cruise until the pearl of the lake, the town of Bellagio. After our lunch here let's discover the beauty of its town centre and visit the garden of Villa Melzi. Have some leisure time before our transfer back to Milan.

The city centre of Como
In the city centre of Como we enjoy the quiet and pedestrian historic heart of the capital of the lake. We visit the gothic Duomo Cathedral of Como and the romanesque basilica of the patron saint, Abbondio. Time for a look at a couple of typical local silk boutiques (the city of Como is historically known for the manufecture and production of silk).
Lake Como
We do a private cruise by a taxi boat (the Venetian type, pictures available) from the city of Como to Bellagio riding next to famous villas like Villa d'Este, Villa Oleandra (private house of George Clooney), Villa del Balbianello and Villa Carlotta amongst the most renowned ones. Stop in Bellagio for lunch in a local typical restaurant and for some leisure time.

In Bellagio, we can eat in a local slow food restaurant and enjoy a black Venus rice topped with fillets of Pearch fish or a mix grilled lake fish (menus available).
Walking tour in Bellagio & leasure time for shopping
After lunch, let's enjoy a walk through its typical overhanging pebbles stepways to reach the Punta Spartivento and admire a view of the Italian Alps surrounding Lake Como. Then walk to Villa Melzi and visit its marvellous botanic garden.
Leave Bellagio and drive back to Milan

Tour Important Information
The access to the churches wil be for free and it will be requested not to wear short skirts / trousers above the knees or sleeveless garments
This tour involves some parts walking in Como ed in Bellagio, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes.
Restaurants in Bellagio and the botanic garden at Villa Melzi accept credit cards.
If the weather forecast predicts rain on the day of the tour, we do not cancel normally. Except if there will be strong wing which is basically the reason why the taxi boat cannot stop at the dockyard. Just in case you'll be refunded, of course.
The visit at the Botanic Garden at Villa Melzi is available only between 26th March and 31st October, 2022.
