Ponte Pietra
Built in the first century B.C. to replace a pre-existing wooden bridge, Ponte Pietra is the oldest Roman monument in Verona and connected the city with the hill where there is still today the Roman theatre
Scala family area
The palaces of the Scala family, their private cemetery, their private chapel, Piazza Signori and the squares around it. Hidden corners.
Piazza Erbe and Juliet's house
the ancient Roman forum, It was the centre of Verona's social, economic and political life. Today it has a tipycal medieval aspect. Close to Piazza Erbe is Juliet's house.
Corso Porta Borsari and Castelvecchio
Corso Porta Borsari is an elegant pedestrian street in the historic centre of Verona, joining Piazza Erbe with the ancient Porta Borsari. It follows the layout of the Decumanus Maximus, which in Roman times was one of the main arteries of the city that met the Cardo Maximus at the Forum. There are lots of small hidden corners along this street.
Arena
The most and best preserved Roman amphitheatre, I century AD. Today it hosts an appreciated opera season and modern concerts too.

“Our quick tour of Padua”
We were traveling by driver/car from Venice to Milan. We scheduled a 2.5 hr. tour with Mariacristina in Padua. She is a n amazingly knowledgeable guide.
