Your hotel
- We will pick-you up at Lisbon cruise terminal
Pena Palace
Guided visit to the Pena Palace grounds, only not seeing the interior. This is the last royal palace of Portugal, before turning into a republic. It represents the 19th century Romanticism in Europe, being the only romantic palace in Europe with a sea view. You will be amazed with its unique architecture and spectacular views. The palace is en eclectic fusion of architectures, incorporating Renaissance, neo-gothic and neo-Moorish styles, on view of “a thousand and one nights”. A beautiful and relaxed experience.
Sintra - village centre
Sintra is a lovely small medieval town, for you to explore the narrow streets, see local crafts and relax over a coffee and local pastries.
Alternatively you might visit the National Palace of Sintra, one of the most important palaces during the middle age or walk to see the exterior of Quinta Regaleira (pass-by for photos), with its amazing gardens and unique Romantic and Neo Gothic architecture.
Belém
Belém is one of the most important neighbourhoods of Lisbon, being famous for its amazing monuments that celebrate the discoveries in Europe's 15th century. We will give you time to enjoy lunch, and take picture of landmarks like Mosteiro dos Jerónimos and Torre de Belém. Amazing manueline architecture and symbols of the Portuguese discoveries of the 16th century, and the arrival of Vasco da Gama to India, which we told you about before. After lunch, a quick stop to take pictures and then continue to Lisbon
Commerce square (Praça do Comércio)
After Belém, we will head to downtown Lisbon, for a pass-by of Praça do Comércio. This the entrance to Lisbon, an iconic square, symbol of the reconstruction, following the 1755 earthquake
