Segovia, A Visit To A World Heritage City, Aqueduct, Suckling Pig & Much More
Segovia is my family's hometown, so it is in my heart. They have an amazing Roman aqueduct, a fortress, a Walt Disney-style castle, and a cathedral known as "The Lady of the Cathedrals," plus their speciality food: a suckling pig and lamb steak lunch. To Segovia, the best way is the high-speed train with its unbeatable price. To reach there, you will need a local like me more than in any other place, as the stations in Madrid and in Segovia aren't in the centre.

Meeting Point
At Atocha train station or your lodge if more or less at city centre
- We will find a meeting point at a bar in front of the train station by Atocha Square around 1 hour before the train departs. But if you prefer, I can go to your hotel or flat, provided it is more or less in the centre.
Leaving Madrid to Segovia from Madrid
We will go from Atocha station to Chamartin, where the train is leaving from.
Enjoying Segovia
From the aqueduct to the Alcazar to visit inside, beautiful inside and out, and where you can take nice photos of the Walt Disney-style castle, then
Back to the Cathedral.
Nice Iconic Lunch
If you like beans, there are big and white, and suckling pigs that will take you to the place where my family used to celebrate.
Enjoying a cofee at the aqueduct site
While heading back to the train station, we shall enjoy a rest, perhaps with a coffee or ice cream...depending on the Weather as Segovia is colder than Madrid and in Winter...perhaps a hot chocolate suits us better.
Back Madrid
Will go back by same High Speed Train
Ending Point
5pm around back in Madrid Atocha train Station

About Tour Guide Paloma T.
Hi all, and welcome to Spain. I want to share with all visitors, as I have been doing for more than 10 years by now, some lovely Spanish cities not as well known as Segovia, my parents' hometown. If you want to enjoy this Roman city and its aqueduct, visit its castle, shaped like a Walt Disney fairy tale, and enjoy delicious food such as suckling pig, just let me know; I know all the best spots there. I'm used to this trip, mainly heading from Madrid on a high-speed train, affordable and in just 30 minutes.
I love meeting foreigners, beginning as tourists and mostly ending as friends :)

“Paloma is a STAR! A true Spanish Gem”
We found Paloma last minute, she was flexible, greeted us with small bag of Spanish chocolate and we were immediately on our way to tour the beautiful city. She always checked in to ensure our questions were answered and to see if we wanted to in any other direction. Paloma knew everything there was to know about history, royalty, city development and more! This was a worthy add on to our trip to Madrid.

“With a friend”
Having Paloma as a tour guide in Madrid felt less like taking a formal tour and more like having a local friend show me around her beautiful city. She is extremely knowledgeable, but what made the tour stand out as one of the best I have ever had anywhere was her company, conversation, and genuine care. Paloma was thoughtful, considerate, and very willing to shape the experience around my particular interests and pace. If I wanted to linger longer at a location, she never made me feel rushed or as though we needed to hurry on to the next stop. In my experience, that is rare among tour guides. I understand the desire to show visitors everything, but I would much rather discover the places that truly interest me and spend time with them than simply tick boxes on a schedule. By the end of the tour, I felt as though I had been catching up with an old friend while exploring a new city. I never felt rushed toward or through the most Instagram-worthy sites, though I suspect that if that is what someone wanted, Paloma would be just as happy to tailor the tour that way. For me, the experience was personal, warm, flexible, and genuinely memorable. I wholeheartedly recommend her, most especially for people travelling alone.

“Great Walking Tour ”
We had a very nice private walking tour through the center of Madrid. Paloma, is a very nice and kind guide. Before the tour she made shure, that we got to see, what we really wanted and was very flexible and totally open to adjust the tour to your need, spontanously. She has a lot of historical background knowledge so, a walk with her is a great benefit and you get to learn a lot. She is a very nice and gentle person, therfore it was nice spending time together and having a nice and long walk through Madrid. Also, she takes great fotos!
