Albariño Private Wine Tour from Santiago, Vigo, Pontevedra
This food and wine tour takes you to the Salnés Valley, which is where most of the Albariño cellars, under the appellation of origin Rías Baixas, are located, thus giving distinctive characteristics to the wines produced here.
The influence of the Atlantic in combination with the specific characteristics of the Albariño grapes, grown in “Parras” (a canopy-style system to lift the vines from the ground) make these wines to be unique. We will visit several wineries and taste their wines.

Pickup at your hotel
Drive to the Salnés valley, and start visiting the first bodega (Cellar) around 10:30 This is a family-run wine cellar that produces unique wines of the Albariño varietal. You'll meet the winemakers and view the special wine-making process of their wines, tasting them at the end. You will have the opportunity to purchase some bottles.
Large winery Chateau style
We will drive to a second winery this one is a larger one and the building reminds you of the French chateaus visiting its installation and tasting their wines.
Furancho Lunch
Furanchos were originally a way for winegrowers to sell their surplus wine directly to consumers without having to pay taxes or adhere to strict regulations. Today, they are a beloved part of Galician culture and are popular with locals and tourists alike. Many furanchos are only open for a few weeks each year, typically in the spring and fall, when the wine is ready to drink.
Visiting a furancho is a unique experience that allows you to taste authentic, homemade Galician wine and food, and to connect with the local culture and traditions of the region.
Small winery in a Pazo
Pazo Quinteiro da Cruz is a historic estate located in the Rías Baixas wine region, the estate dates back to the 16th century and is known for its beautiful gardens, stunning architecture, and, of course, its wine.
The estate's vineyards are planted with the Albariño grape variety, which is known for its crisp acidity and distinctive aromas of peach, apricot, and citrus.
Pazo Quinteiro da Cruz is known for its stunning architecture and beautiful gardens. The estate features a grand manor house, a chapel, and a collection of outbuildings and gardens that date back centuries. Visitors can take a stroll through the gardens and admire the fountains, statues, and ornamental plants that make the estate so picturesque.

Return to Santiago or the original pickup point. I can also pick up in one place and drop-off in another if the distance is not too much.

“We Had a Wonderful Day with Jaunjo in Galicia”
Juanjo was a great guide. He was a gracious host, with everything in his car that you could need umbrellas, WiFi, water, snacks. . . . . His English is also very, very good. So, we talked to him not only about the things he took us to see on our tour, but about all manner of other local issues and current events both in Spain and in the US. We spent the whole day seeing the sights and beautiful views along the coast, as well as some interesting oddities - like the digs of a strange German hermit artist, and ancient Stonehenge like Celtic ruins, and we enjoined a nice lunch where Juanjo introduced us to one of the local favorites, barnacles. After a lovely day Juanjo was also nice enough to share tips for what to see for the rest of our time in Spain and the best routes to take. Don't hesitate to book a tour with Juanjo, and ask him about options. He told us that he can design any tour throughout Spain and even into Portugal.
