The essence of Kamakura - A half-day trip to another world

Kamakura
3 hours 30 min

From Tokyo, only one hour train ride takes you to another world, Kamakura, an ancient capital of samurais.Their spirit of "Zen" still remains anywhere. The passage of time is quite different from the one of megapolis Tokyo. I think three spots express the essence of Kamakura, Great Buddha (Kotoku-in Temple), Bamboo Temple (Hokoku-ji Temple) and First Shogun's Shrine (Tsuru-ga-oka Hachiman Guu).

Promenade--from Tokyo Station to the Imperial Palace

Tokyo
3 hours

Without any doubt, this is one of the most beautiful promenades in Japan, and also, especially historical road. At first sight, it doesn't look a lot of historical signs concealed. I'll tell you such secrets of this promenade taking a stroll on this road. There's no splendid palace like Versailles, but we can find remains of "Castle" in many places. That's the secret of this road because It's the scene of Japanese revolution, a dramatic and irreversible social change llike French revolution.

Kamakura-une demi journée dans le monde enchanté !

Kamakura
3 hours 30 min

Tokyo Pilgrimage of Seven Gods of good luck in Yamanote

Tokyo
3 hours 20 min

Do you know a pilgrimage of Seven gods of good luck ? In Tokyo, there're many kinds of this pilgrimage. But it's said that this is the oldest since the 18th Century. And at each temple, you can get a Daruma figure (cute !) and Goshuin card (elegant calligraphy !) if you like. After this pilgrimage, it's belived that you can get a great luck !! And you'll enjoy walking around beautiful Yamanote town !

Kamakura April 2023

We visited Kamakura with Itsumi and saw 3 major shrine/temple areas in a short period of time. She was very knowledgeable, she tailored the tour to meet our interests, she was kind enough to make some last minute changes we requested, went as fast or slow as we wanted, and was very pleasant. I highly recommend!

Additionally, she even brought us to more places than stated in the itinerary for an even more enriching experience, and went the extra mile to guide us in the train station to our next destination.
