From Tokyo, only one hour train ride takes you to another world, Kamakura, an ancient capital of samurais.Their spirit of "Zen" still remains anywhere. The passage of time is quite different from the one of megapolis Tokyo. I think three spots express the essence of Kamakura, Great Buddha (Kotoku-in Temple), Bamboo Temple (Hokoku-ji Temple) and First Shogun's Shrine (Tsuru-ga-oka Hachiman Guu).

guide fee
transportation fee (you and guide), entrance fee (temples)
Kamakura would force you to walk more than you imagine. We'll take a bus and a local train, but each temple and shrine has the large precincts. I recommend comfortable shoes.
Within this tour, we need transportation expenses from 800 yen to 1000 yen per person to move by bus and local train. If you can, please prepare SUICA card or Pasmo card (Transportation IC card). It's really useful.
At the temple of Great Buddha, the entrance fee is 300 yen or 150 yen (age 6-12) per person.
Bamboo Temple requires an admission fee, 400 yen per person or 200 yen (age 6-15) per person. If you'd like to drink a tea (powdered green tea ) there, plus 600 yen per person, please.
(About your transportation fee to Kamakura, for example, from Shinjuku to Kamakura, it costs 950 yen per person on JR Shonan-Shinjuku Line)
I can guide you in Kamakura if you pay my transportation fee.
I'm sure a serene atmosphere of Kamakura will greatly impress you.
At first, the open-air Great Buddha, must-see of Kamakura, will be your unforgettable scene. Then, at our second spot, a bamboo grove will introduce you to "Zen" world. If you'd like, you can have a cup of powdered green tea (Matcha) with a small japanese sweet in a teahouse looking at bamboo trees (I recommend this ! ). And, at the third spot, Shogun's shrine (Shogun is samourai leader), I'll tell you a story of two ponds of the precinct. One is so-called "lucky" pond and another is "unlucky" one. Why ? and how ? This shrine still reflects wishes of The First Shogun more than 800 yeas ago ! And.....I'm looking forward to seeing you and telling the story of the two ponds !!

“Delightful Meiji Jingu tour”
We had a short and beautiful toru around the Meiji Jingu Shinto Shrine. Itsumi was very kind and told us about the history of the place. We also attended a ritual and Itsumi helped us with the language barrier. I would have liked more information about different aspects about Japanese culture besides the information about the place. Still, we enjoyed our time very much and my husband got to practice his japanese.

Thank you, Estefania ! I really enjoyed the tour to be with you. We could see a marriage procession and a new born baby. We're lucky ! May you be blessed with even more luck on your journey. Itsumi
