Meeting Point
In the lobby of your Hotel
- I'd like to meet you in the lobby of your hotel, but if you prefer, we can arrange a different location upon request.
Ancient beauty/ Floating Torii Gate and Itsukushima Shrine
The Floating Torii Gate is the iconic symbol of Itsukushima Shrine, located on the sacred island of Miyajima. The torii appears to float on the water during high tide, creating a stunning visual effect, while at low tide, visitors can walk right up to it.
Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was built over water and is dedicated to Shinto deities. Its elegant wooden structures, connected by boardwalks, are designed to harmonize with the natural beauty of the island.
The shrine and torii gate offer a serene and picturesque experience, blending history, spirituality, and nature.
Feel the ancient breeze / Five-storied Pagoda and Senjokaku
The Five-storied Pagoda, built in 1407, is a striking blend of Japanese and Chinese architectural styles, offering beautiful view of the island.
Nearby, Senjokaku or "Pavilion of 1,000 (tatami) Mats" is a spacious, unfinished wooden hall originally intended as a Buddhist library, known for its serene atmosphere and historical significance.
Enjoy local cuisines / Shopping Street
Explore the Omotesando shopping street, the main street of Miyajima, with many souvenir shops, cafes, and restaurants. On weekends and holidays, there are many stores lined along the street. "Okonomiyaki", "conger eel", "grilled fish cake", and fresh "oyster", etc. Local food will satisfy your stomach for sure. Plus, as a dessert, "Momiji Manju" is a must-taste.
Walk & Ride / Mt. Misen
Mt. Misen is the highest peak on Miyajima, offering breathtaking views of the Seto Inland Sea and surrounding islands. Visitors can take the Miyajima Ropeway, a scenic cable car ride that glides above lush forests, bringing you close to the summit. From the upper station, it's a roughly 20-minute walk to the top, where you can explore ancient temples and sacred eternal fire.
The panoramic views from the peak are stunning, making it a rewarding experience for nature lovers and hikers alike. Both the cable car and hike offer unique perspectives of this sacred mountain.
Note: I'll be taking the tour using only the cable car.
Temple wonderland / Daishoin-Temple
Daishoin Temple, located at the base of Mt. Misen, is one of the island's most significant Buddhist temples. Founded in 806 by the monk Kukai, it features a serene complex of halls, statues, and pathways. Visitors can explore its intricate stone steps lined with spinning prayer wheels, peaceful meditation halls, and beautiful gardens. Daishoin is less crowded than other Miyajima attractions, offering a tranquil escape where you can experience traditional Buddhist rituals and appreciate the temple's historical significance.
Ending Point
Miyajima (pier) or Hirsohima City upon request

“A Wonderful Day on Miyajima Island”
We had an amazing day on Miyajima thanks to our guide. She climbed the mountain with us, shared the history of shrines and temples, and spoke with a real passion that made everything come alive. She helped us take photos and added thoughtful touches throughout the day that made the experience feel personal and memorable. What stood out most was how much she cared about making the day run smoothly. She went above and beyond to make sure we made our train and back from the island, which took a lot of stress away and let us enjoy every moment. It was a magical experience from start to finish and we are very grateful for her care, knowledge, and kindness.

Thank you very much for your heartwarming review. I am truly delighted that we were able to climb all the way to the summit of Mt. Misen together, and that I could be present on such a meaningful day for both of you. It was also an unforgettable and precious experience for me as your guide. Thank you so much. I have guided many guests in the past, but not many have made it all the way to the top of Mt. Misen—bravo to both of you! I hope you will visit Hiroshima again someday. Next time, let’s challenge the full hike from the base to the summit! Hugs, Kay

“Hiroshima half-day and Miyajima full day tour wirh Keiko”
We had two absolutely delightful tours with Keiko. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable about history and the two Japanese religions, Shinto and Buddhism, which were my particular interests, but she provided us with a wealth of information about anything we wanted to know. Moreover she is very polite, helpful, warm-hearted and can adapt the program very flexibly if necessary. We could not have found a more dedicated guide, thank you so much, Keiko Barbara & Werner

Thank you so much for your heartfelt review. I truly enjoyed spending those two days with both of you. It was wonderful to see how much interest you had in Japanese culture and history—from the beautiful Shukkeien Garden, the children celebrating Shichi-Go-San at Gokoku Shrine, and the history of the Peace Memorial Park and Museum, to the hike up Mt. Misen and the religious philosophies behind our temples and shrines. I also won’t forget the relaxing time we spent together on the café terrace. I’m grateful to have shared such wonderful moments with both of you. Please do come back to Hiroshima again—I’ll be waiting for you with all my heart. Hugs, Kay (Keiko)

“Customised luxury tour for senior executive groups”
Keiko is one of the most cheerful and professional guides I've ever met with passion and full of knowledge in understanding various cultures outside Japan. I asked her for guiding our group of seniors who have different backgrounds from Singapore and Canada according to customised itinerary meeting our requests, however she was so helpful and supportive in organising such a tour without any hesitations. My friends from Singapore and Canada were truly satisfied with her guidance throughout the tour and especially detailed introductions on the bus with her perfect English explanations, it was sincerely appreciated and impressed by them. I really recommend her, if you are inbound tourists to Japan and if you need an English speaking guide with understanding of different perspectives and cultures rich in experiences of communicating with people from all over the world. I truly confirm your stay in Japan becomes one of your memorial visits, once you ask her to guide in Hiroshima.

I am truly honored to receive such a wonderful review!! Thank you so much. It was also a great pleasure for me to guide your party on a customized tour that went beyond Hiroshima’s two famous UNESCO World Heritage Sites, giving us the chance to explore Hiroshima from different perspectives together—including visiting a sake brewery and an oyster farm. I am also sincerely grateful to you and to the group coordinator who accompanied us on this tour, as both of you paid such thoughtful attention to details that a guide working alone might not be able to cover. This experience has encouraged me to create more tours that include not only sightseeing but also hands-on experiences. Please extend my warmest regards to everyone who joined the tour. Thank you once again. Warm regards, Keiko
