A stunning Japanese-style garden / Shukkeien
Shukkeien Garden is a tranquil oasis in Hiroshima, originally built in 1620 for a feudal lord. Its name, meaning "shrunken scenery", reflects the garden's design, which artfully recreates natural landscapes like mountains and rivers in miniature form. As you walk through the garden, you'll find winding paths leading to serene ponds, graceful bridges, and beautifully arranged trees and plants.
Perfect for a quiet stroll or a moment of reflection, Shukkeien Garden provides a glimpse into traditional Japanese landscaping and is a must-see destinations for those seeking a peaceful escape in Hiroshima.
A castle in the city center / Hiroshima "Carp" Castle
Hiroshima Castle is a historic landmark that reflects the city's feudal past. Originally built in 1589 by warlord Mori Terumoto, the castle served as a political and cultural center during Japan's feudal era. Through it was destroyed by the atomic bomb in 1945, the castle was faithfully reconstructed in 1958.
Today, Hiroshima Castle houses a museum that offers insight into the city's samurai history, the castle's original structure, and the surrounding area's development. The five-story castle tower provides panoramic views of the city, blending its historical roots with modern-day Hiroshima. Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply looking for a picturesque place to visit, Hiroshima Castle is a must-see.
A symbol of hope for global peace / Peace Memorial Park & Museum
Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park is a powerful tribute to the victims of the 1945 atomic bombing and a symbol of hope for global peace. Located close to the epicenter of the blast, the park is home to several important monuments, including the Atomic Bomb Dome, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Cenotaph, which holds the names of those who perished.
At the heart of the park is the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, which offers a moving and educational experience. Through exhibits of artifacts, photographs, and personal stories, the museum details the devastation caused by the atomic bomb and its aftermath, while promoting a message of peace and nuclear disarmament.
The park's serene atmosphere invites both quiet contemplation and remembrance, making it a must-visit for anyone coming to Hiroshima.

Thank you so much for your kind review. Watching how gently and lovingly you cared for your wife throughout the tour made me reflect on how beautiful such a relationship is, and how I’d love to have something like that too. I truly enjoyed our conversations — from topics about Japan to our travels in Europe — so much so that I almost forgot I was working! If you ever have the chance, I would be delighted to welcome you back to Hiroshima again. Warm regards, Kay (Keiko)

“Family Friendly Hiroshima Tour”
We feel blessed to have crossed paths with Keiko in Hiroshima. It was our favorite day in Japan! Aside from a visit to Peace Memorial Park/Museum, we enjoyed our other stops including the Castle, the Tower and Okonomiyaki. We moved efficiently around the city and she packaged a lot of history into a short period of time. Her humor and whit seemlessly hooked the kids into learning about Japanese-American history, etc. Her spirit and deep knowledge about everything Hiroshima is worth every minute and penny. Do not hesitate to use Keiko as your tour guide. We hope our paths may cross again in the future.

Hello my dear, Thank you so much for your kind review. The time we spent together in Hiroshima was truly special, and I thoroughly enjoyed chatting with every member of your wonderful family. I was especially impressed by how passionate both of your children were about learning the history of Japan and the US, as well as their earnest curiosity and enthusiasm for discovering new things. I wish you a journey filled with joy and adventure and hope that our paths will cross again in the future. Thank you so much! Best regards, Keiko (Kay)
