“My First Trip to Sapporo and Otaru”
This was our first trip to Hokkaido as a couple. I had undergone colon surgery in April and was hospitalized for 17 days, so I was very worried about whether I would actually be able to travel to Hokkaido. However, Yumi's guidance was very enjoyable, and it was great to be able to go to places and restaurants that we would never have gone to on our own. Also, we were able to hear many stories about Hokkaido that only a local person could tell us, so it was a very intellectually satisfying trip.

Thank you very much for joining my tour for two days! I also had a great opportunity to learn more deeply about the history of Hokkaido through our conversations during the tour. Guiding Japanese guests was also a valuable experience for me, and I feel I was able to improve my skills in creating enjoyable tours for domestic travelers as well. There were also places on this tour that I personally rarely have the chance to visit, so it became a very meaningful experience for me too. Thank you again, and please continue to enjoy your travels together in the future! Yumi

We had such an amaxing day with Yumi S . The brief was to show us Cherry Blossoms and we sure did get to see many, Yumi took us to so many places, even the Ski Jump and we had some amazing sushi for lunch, I would highly recommend booking a private tour with Yumi, so professional and we had a lot of laughs too! Thank you so much for your kind review. I had a great time with you as well! The conveyor-belt sushi was quite busy, but I’m glad you enjoyed it. I hope to see you again in Sapporo someday! Thank you again. Yumi

“Saporro Highlights”
Yumi was wonderful. We had some very specific goals for our time here and she was careful to make sure that we saw the places we needed to see. Because of our schedule, we had to rearrange the sequence of things - she was flexible and helpful. And we were lucky enough to catch some beautiful cherry blossoms. I would recommend Yumi if you are coming to Saporro.

Aya N.
Hi! I'm Aya, now based in the Sapporo area from June 2026! After growing up in Hokkaido, I graduated from university in New York and have lived in 7 cities across Japan, Canada, and the United States. Exploring the world allows me to connect with people from diverse backgrounds while sharing Japan through both a local and international perspective. I've also traveled Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and Latin America, and love learning about history, different story of local people. <My Hosting Style> As a global citizen, I love sharing the side of Japan that many visitors never get to see, from local culture and everyday life to hidden food spots and the stories behind them. Whether you are interested in food, nature, culture, art, music, or simply experiencing Japan from a local perspective, I tailor each experience to your interests, mood, personality, and travel style. <My Experience> Over the years, I have guided amazing guests from east to west, in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and now Hokkaido. I enjoy hosting culturally curious travelers who seek meaningful experiences, authentic local connections, and a deeper understanding of Japan beyond the typical tourist route. My guests often tell me that spending time with me feels more like exploring with a knowledgeable local friend, and many ask me to guide them again on their next journey through Japan. I look forward to hearing from you and helping create a memorable experience in Japan :) P.S. I've lived in Vancouver Canada, Upstate New York, New York City, Tokyo, Osaka, and now the Sapporo area in Hokkaido!

During our tour, I’ll introduce you to some of Sapporo’s most popular spots, local culture, and of course some great places to eat! If you have any questions at any time, please feel free to ask me. I hope you enjoy your time in Sapporo. Let’s have a great tour together!

I am an American male bi-lingual (English & Japanese)tour guide based/living in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. I have lived here several decades and I very familiar with the best places to see in Sapporo and outside of Sapporo/ other areas of Hokkaido. I can take you to the standard/well known sightseeing spots as well as "off the beaten path spots" that many overseas guests are unaware of. My tours are fun, on schedule, informative and transportation-wise very timely and smooth. Less time commuting and more time at location enjoying each point of interest. I have many years experience guiding tours in Sapporo and out to other areas of Hokkaido as well. Most of my tours are 1 day tours usually starting at 8 or 9a.m. and concluding at 6p.m. I basically use public transportation(buses, JR trains, and subways). I do own my own personal car and for guided tours with only 1 guest or small groups 2-3 guests, my private car is available for use. Meet up locations is usually at Sapporo Station in the morning but I can arrrange to meet you in the lobby of your hotel if requested. I look forward to guiding you here in Sapporo and throughout Hokkaido. Tour guide Scott. Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan.
