About Tour Guide Yacco M.
Hi, I’m Yacco, a friendly and passionate local guide. I was born and raised in Shizuoka and have lived in Yokohama for over 30 years. For the past several years, I’ve been guiding international visitors in Kamakura, Yokohama, and Tokyo as a volunteer, helping them discover the rich history, culture, and hidden charm of these unique cities.
Traveling abroad creates once-in-a-lifetime memories, and I would love for you to fully experience the beauty and spirit of my favorite towns.
I not only enjoy showing historical and modern landmarks, but also love introducing quiet backstreets, seasonal flowers, cozy cafés, and delicious local food that reflect the charm of everyday life. What I enjoy most is comparing Japanese traditions with my guests’ own cultures and histories—these conversations often lead to deep and inspiring exchanges.
As your guide, I’m happy to customize tours based on your interests, whether you’re seeking unique experiences, historical insights, or local flavors. Let’s walk, talk, and create unforgettable memories together!
Important
My tours are mainly conducted on foot and using public transportation, but I can arrange a taxi if you prefer, with the cost covered by you.

Blooming Kamakura: Seasonal Flower Walk (Halfday Customized tour) by Yacco
Just an hour from Tokyo, Kamakura offers a unique blend of history, nature, and seasonal beauty. On this half-day tour, a local guide who knows the area well will take you to quiet, lesser-known temples and hidden spots where you can relax and enjoy the best seasonal scenery away from the crowds — the spots I recommend most for that day.

“Fun day at Kamakura !”
We had amazing time with Yacco she told us so much of japans history and customs and show'd us beautiful nature and temples that Kamakura had to offer. We were in japan for 2weeks and this trip with Yacco was one of the surprise highlight of the whole trip. Yacco made modifications to the trip according to our needs and wants she even called the restaurant a head of time that we wanted to visit just to make sure that they were open and hand room for us. She was lovely and caring host who thought us so much we cant wait for our next japan trip and see Yacco again. We can wholeheartedly recommend Yacco to anyone interested in history ,temples and nature of Kamakura. Even as our day ended she made sure we got on train helped us reserve seats on train that was little confusing to us. On our next trip to japan we are sure to save 1 day for Yacco so we can spend more time with her thanks again for lovely day and see you hopefully sooner that later :D

Hi Tomi-san, Thank you so much for your heartwarming review! It truly meant a lot to me. I was very happy to spend the day with your lovely family in Kamakura, a place I truly love. I was a little worried about the weather, but I’m so glad it cleared up in the afternoon and that we could enjoy the beach together. It was also a real pleasure talking in English with your daughter—she is so sweet! I also learned a lot from you about Finland, a country I’ve always admired. It was fascinating to hear how similar Finland and Japan can be in some ways. Thank you as well for telling me about that lovely café near the sea—I really appreciated it. I truly hope you will come back to Japan again, and I look forward to seeing you next time! Kiitos! Yacco

“Memorable day with a charming person.”
My family and I took a tour in Kamakura with Yasuko. She was very patient and took us to places with very few tourists. We also visited the Great Buddha and had a fantastic lunch. Yasuko is a wonderful person—kind, cheerful, and with a great spirit of helping others. If you are one of the lucky people to meet her, please be kind and considerate to her. Spending a day with Yasuko is like spending time with a friend. My family and I will always remember her. Arigatōgosaimazu mabudachi!

Dear Oskar-san, Thank you so much for your incredibly kind and heartwarming words. Spending the day with you and your beautiful family in Kamakura was truly a gift for me as well. In Japan, we have a phrase Ichigo Ichie — a once-in-a-lifetime encounter. Our day in Kamakura with you felt exactly like that: precious and unforgettable. I am deeply grateful for this special encounter. Arigato gozaimasu from the bottom of my heart. I carry this memory with deep gratitude. Warmly, Yacco

I’m so excited to have a chance to show you around my favorite spots in Kanagawa prefecture. I was born in Kanagawa. I spent my whole school life, including university, here in Kanagawa. I worked as a high school English teacher here for more than 40 years. I love Kanagawa so much. We have many interesting tourist spots, like Hakone, Kamakura, Enoshima and Yokohama. I got my tour guide license in English in 2009. I am still an English teacher. To give an interesting and impressive lesson to young high school students, I’ve learnt and gathered many kinds of information. I also have a license to teach social studies, so I have a wide range of knowledge about Japanese culture and history. I’m sure to provide you an interesting tour.

Welcome to Japan! I'm Shin. I have been an English Guide in Japan more than10 years. I can guide Tokyo, Kanagawa and almost all metropolitan sightseeing and walking spots. I was born in Kobe, grown up in Osaka, and studied in Kyoto, so not only Tokyo but I also have a good knowledge of Japanese historical cities. I love talking about Japanese food & culture, walking quiet narrow streets, drinking tasty Japanese whisky, Sumo, Rugby & Sports, and Japanese mountains. I climbed Mt. Fuji 18 times with foreign guests. We enjoyed the auspicious moments of sunrising from the summit. I would like to support you to make your stay in Japan memorable and precious one. It is grateful if you refer to my proposed tour schedule, in the case you have your own interests, I am happy to tailor the tour schedule responding your requests. Please feel free to contact me. I look forward to sharing wonderful time in Japan with you. Be my guest!
