Kitakamakura Station

Engaku-ji Temple

Ranked second among Kamakura's Five Great Zen Temples, Engaku-ji is nestled in a tranquil, wooden valley. Founded in 1282, it offers a serene atmosphere filled with magnificent wooden architecture, tall cedar trees, and peaceful Zen gardens. It is an ideal starting point to experience the timeless Zen spirit of Kamakura at a comfortable, gentle pace.

Tsurugaoka Hachimangu

Tsurugaoka Hachimangu is the historic heart and iconic symbol of Kamakura, established by the first shogun in 1180. To conserve energy for walking, we will stroll along the raised, tree-lined pedestrian path called Dankazura and admire the impressive grand shrine

Lunch around Kamakura Station

Enjoy a delicious Japanese meal at a local restaurant near Kamakura Station, where serving fresh local seafood, crisp tempura, and authentic Japanese set meals (teishoku)

Great Buddha (Kotoku-in Temple)

Greet Kamakura’s iconic outdoor bronze statue of Amida Buddha, standing nearly 11 meters tall and peacefully meditating under the open sky since the 13th century! You will also have the unique opportunity to step inside the hollow statue to admire its impressive craftsmanship.

Hase-dera Temple

Known as the "Temple of Flowers," Hase-dera features meticulously manicured gardens, thousands of charming small Jizo statues, and a grand 11-headed Kannon statue. From the upper viewing terrace, you can enjoy sweeping views of Kamakura's coastline and the ocean breeze.

Enoshima Exploring

After crossing over to Enoshima, we will walk along the atmospheric approach to Enoshima Shrine, a historic holy site with centuries of heritage. We will visit the shrine and sample delicious local street snacks along the vibrant shopping street—just like pilgrims and travelers enjoyed doing back in the Edo period!

Sunset & Mt. Fuji View at Benten Bridge

Stroll along Enoshima Benten Bridge. Weather permitting, on a clear day, you will be treated to a breathtaking view of the golden sunset dipping into Sagami Bay, with the majestic silhouette of Mt. Fuji in the distance.

Shonan Monorail Experience

We will walk to Shonan-Enoshima Station and hop on the Shonan Monorail—a unique suspended monorail that glides over hills and streets like a gentle roller coaster!

Tour End at Ofuna Station

The tour officially concludes at around 5:30 PM upon arrival at JR Ofuna Station via the monorail. I will ride the monorail with you to Ofuna Station and happily assist you with transfers or train directions back to where you want.
