My name is Ricardo and I was born and raised in Porto City. Although tourism changed Porto for the best (in my opinion) for the last 5 years, me and my family had to move out from Porto, into the bush, housing and living costs became very high and we made the choice that we should move out to the countryside. In this last year 2020 and even this year 2021 with pandemic work just fell down drastically and we had to adapt. Making Port Wine, Muscat wine and sometimes olive oil in a amatuer way since 2014, this hobbie become my family income. With vineyards and olives fields almost abandoned from the pandemic I rolled up my sleeves and went to work, asking neighbours and friends if I could keep their grapes and olives for harvest time, their answers were immediately YES Dividing my life between Porto and Douro Valley, me and my family feel completely safe, happy and relaxed with this new way of living your life. We are mindful of the changes the tourism boom has brought to Lisbon in recent years, which is why we support the art of hospitality without neglecting our genuine Lisboan identity and this is what we will share with you. We like detours and how they keep surprising us. We might stop for 20 minutes to see the sunset or take a walk and go have a ginginha at that special place. We don’t want your trip to Lisbon to taste like a frozen meal. What we serve here is homemade and freshly prepared.

“Joana is absolutely perfect!!”
Joana picked us up from our hotel on schedule and was a delight from our initial meeting. She was very knowledgeable about the city and the specific things we did. I made a list of things to do and she made sure that we checked ALL THE BOXES!!! She was perfect for me and my daughter. I think our special moment was when we saw the PORTO sign, she had packed a picnic basket with Port wine and glasses so we could salute at the sign. If you want a tour guide that is specific to your desires, Joana is the one. We had her for 8 hours and as a tour guide, she only took us to some places and my daughter and I entered them without her and she waited patiently until we were done. I wanted to pay for her to enter those places too. She felt like a friend more than a tour guide. If you select her, you will NOT be sorry. Joana is the very best!

Our day exploring Porto was a true delight! So fun and relaxed, that there was time to explore the main places of the city, like Ribeira, Palácio de Cristal, Torre dos Clérigos, Mercado do Bolhão, Capela das Almas, Avenida dos Aliados... and also, we enjoyed a relaxed Boat ride along Douro River, visit Livraria Lello and it's amasing athmosphere, did a Wine Tasting & Tour in a Porto Wine Cellars, eat the famous Pastel de Natal and yet there was time for shoe shopping, and time to find some roasted coffee to bring home! Also we had moments of laughter, sharing interesting life stories and that's what i call a perfect day! Being able to show you and your daughter beautiful charming Porto was amasing and thanks again for choosing me to be your tour guide. Wishing you a great rest of birthday celebration trip in Portugal and keep celebrating life with that positive energy! All the best to both of you!

“A wonderful tour of Coimbra with Joao”
My husband and I enjoyed a fun and interesting tour of Coimbra with Joao. He taught us a lot about the history of both Coimbra and Portugal with facts and interesting stories.
