I have been working as a certified guide in Portugal for over 22 years after my graduation from the Tourism university. Since 2009 I run a tour company with all the licenses required as well as insurances and I am able to give tours with transportation. I drive a fully licensed 9 seater mini van Mercedes with independent air conditioned and I am also able to give tours inside monuments.

My name is Ricardo and I was born and raised in Porto City. Although tourism changed Porto for the best (in my opinion) for the last 5 years, me and my family had to move out from Porto, into the bush, housing and living costs became very high and we made the choice that we should move out to the countryside. In this last year 2020 and even this year 2021 with pandemic work just fell down drastically and we had to adapt. Making Port Wine, Muscat wine and sometimes olive oil in a amatuer way since 2014, this hobbie become my family income. With vineyards and olives fields almost abandoned from the pandemic I rolled up my sleeves and went to work, asking neighbours and friends if I could keep their grapes and olives for harvest time, their answers were immediately YES Dividing my life between Porto and Douro Valley, me and my family feel completely safe, happy and relaxed with this new way of living your life. “Wonderful and Memorable Visit to an Amazing City”
Joana A, gave us a tour that will remember for many years. Her expertise in Porto was wonderful. She showed us so many features of this amazing while being very conscious and helpful with our limited physical problems. To top it off when the tour was over she send us an wonderful video of our stay in Porto. We would highly recommend Joana if you are looking for an informative and fun tour of Porto. The time we spend discovering Porto was so wonderful and meeting both of you was such a big inspiration. Our day started by picking you up from the Cruise ship and head to Ribeira area, to enjoy the narrow old streets with colorful houses next to the river. The weather and light of the city was perfect to receive you! The rest of the day was to enjoy the charming places, admire beautiful architecture and even drink a Porto wine! Being able to spend the morning with both of you, showing charming Porto was such a delight! “Mad Max was Magnificent!!!”
There is not enough space here to write about how wonderful of an experience our private tour with Max was. He gave us an unforgettable experience, and by the end of our time together we felt like friends who had just spent the day together exploring the beauty of The Algarve. He took us to his favorite places and hidden gems that felt like untouched paradise. He introduced us to locals and friends. He captured moments of our group that would’ve otherwise been just memories. He was simply the best. If you have one day and you want to explore the beauty that is the Algarve, do it with Max.
