Lisbon has countless beauties in store for the traveler. It is impossible to see and visit everything in one day, but one day is enough to discover the most important neighborhoods and take over the rhythm of the city. A city can really be explored on foot and by public transport. What I offer is a full day in this wonderful city, with lots of walking and a few tram and bus rides. It is a recommended program, but all elements can be customized according to the needs of your family or friends.

Belém is full of architectural relics from the golden age of the Portuguese empire. We try to arrive relatively early so that we can see as many of them as possible during the morning. After we have "seen enough", we hop on a train or bus and travel to the city center.
We will visit the famous Time Out Market for a lunch break. International or traditional Portuguese cuisine? Everyone will find something to their liking.
We spend the first half of the afternoon in the upper town. The bohemian quarter is still sleepy at this time, but the view from the parks and terraces is magnificent. We also get to know elevators, funiculars, and historic trams. Of course, we will try some of them.
This is the absolute center of the city, which was rebuilt after the 1755 earthquake. Historic shops, hidden beauties, and the pulse of the city. It's time for a nice coffee, local cookies and to try ginjinha.
The oldest district of Lisbon, where every alley has its own history. We get lost in the maze of alleyways to discover its true atmosphere. The sunset also reaches us here. We can return to the hotel or continue the evening individually in a great restaurant.

In any case, we can agree on the exact program in advance, even before booking, here on GoWithGuide.
Lisbon is built on hills, so walking is not always easy. We always try to choose the easiest possible route, but you have to be prepared to walk for several hours during the day.
We use public transport as intended, not for sightseeing. That is why it cannot be guaranteed that we will have a seat on it. The booking does not include public transport tickets. The reason for this is that different solutions can be favorable for everyone. There are those who have already purchased a multi-day ticket or have a Lisbon Card, it would be unnecessary to pay for this again. I will be happy to help you choose and buy the right ticket. The same is true for entrance tickets: I'm happy to help you buy them, but you don't have to pay for anything we might not end up going into. Visiting the interior of the Monastery of Jerónimos (Belém) requires prior arrangement.
We have a lunch break during the day, but food and drinks are not included in the reservation. However, I can recommend food, drinks and restaurants, and I can also make a reservation if we agree in advance.
In Belém, the church and the monastery are closed on Mondays.

There are lucky ones who were born and grew up in Portugal, and there are those who chose this amazing country later as their home. I still consider myself lucky to be the latter one.
I'm sure there are a lot of things that I see differently from a deep-rooted local, just as there are certain things that I notice and appreciate so that I can tell you about cultural differences and show you those little things that local people could take for granted but are indeed a valuable part of their lives.
I have been working as a tour guide and guidebook writer for more than 15 years. I have always had a passion to explore cities and landscapes and then show the most interesting parts of the world to others.
