Q: What do I need to know before going to Portugal?

Here are some quick tips to keep in mind before you touch down in the Land of Explorers. Speaking in Spanish/comparing Portugal to Spain is considered rude. “Visit to Sintra with a disappointing private guide- avoid Hugo”

Hugo was not the guide. He consistently emailed me indicating that he would be the guide and then at the last minute when we could no longer switch, he said he had hired someone else. This guide barely spoke English, gave no explanations, had no idea of the history and share minimal insight. Expensive tour and a waste of a lot of money. Avoid Hugo. He is not upfront Sintra itself and Peña Palace are spectacular but you can spend a lot less and enjoy as much with Viator
