About

*The maximum number people I can guide is 4.

Would you like to have a private guide who caters to all of your needs when you are in Japan? I'm a professional, private guide in Tokyo and am committed to offering my guests a stress-free, enjoyable and memorable trip in which you can feel as if you are guided by a local Japanese friend with personal warmth and without any language barrier. Unlike fixed tours, you are free to change your travel plan anytime to cater more to your interest or to deal with unexpected situations. In any case, I'd be more than happy to help you to make your trip even better. Due to covid-19, I wear a mask during a tour to follow the Japanese custom, but it's totally up to your preference whether you wear a mask or not!

My name is Koichiro (my nickname is Koji!) and I've stayed in Southern California for 3 years and have graduated from an American college there. I am a licensed, professional English-speaking tour guide who loves having great time with people and would be truly glad to show you around Tokyo by sharing my knowledge and experiences as a professional guide and, more importantly, as a local. I'm more than happy to introduce you to hidden gems, authentic restaurants, and bars in Tokyo (Tokyo has the best food!).

I'd like to guide you as my real friend and will offer sheer hospitality and friendship to you so that you can truly value the moments in Tokyo. I'll explain Japanese things through the eyes of local Japanese so that you can have clearer ideas on what they really are.

I'd love to draw up your original travel plan and am always flexible to your request, so please feel free to message me for any questions/suggestions!

Important

*Hotel pick-up and drop-off are included in the guide fee.

*Food (including lunch, around ¥1,500) and train fares (around ¥800) for the guide are not included in the guide fee.

Highlights of Tokyo in two days with a great guide

Koji managed to built a great itinerary for us that we felt was well adapted to our tastes and interests. He is well organized, has a great personality and is really helpful giving us some tips for our other days in Tokyo by ourselves. We had two full days with him and we had a great time. Both days were extremely diversified (temples, city areas, arcades, cafes, bars, tea house, park, point of interests, etc.). We felt being with someone that know his way into the city. He is also really good to readjust the tour based on our pace and on our ongoing discussions through the days. He was our first guide in Japan and gave us a really good first impression of this wonderful country. We will recommend him as a guide to any of our friend which plan to visit the area. We had a really good time with him from the beginning to the end.

Francois, the 2 days were fantastic and I'm glad I could show you the best of Tokyo! I hope you enjoyed traveling to other parts of Japan as well (and I hope you liked Tokyo the best:). Thank you and do hope to recreate fun time again!

Excellent personality as private guide.

Koji was excellent! Suitably polite, mild mannered and know his ways around Tokyo. Koji speaks good English and advised us even way before our actual arrival in Haneda Airport, Tokyo especially on the health checks and airport transfers to hotel. Highly recommends Koji, for he is suitably quiet and knows when to keep away, whilst simultaneously can strike good conversation where necessary! Extremely important trait for a personal guide. He was also very attentive to our requests and did not beat around the bush when certain things are not recommended. He has a lot of experience handling non-Japaense tourists. My wife and I spent 6 days in Tokyo and we had Koji to accompany us around Tokyo and Gotemba for 3 days.

Fauzi I'm honored that I could be you and your wife's guide in Tokyo. It was pure bliss to have been able to share the 3 days (including the World Cup final) with a lot of joy! I hope now you have a better understanding of Japan and am looking forward to seeing both of you again very soon:) Thank you, Koji

Amazing guide

My first time travelling alone in Tokyo and Koji was the best guide I could’ve asked for. He brought me to different places according to my interest and answered all my questions with patience. I’m looking forward to another tour with Koji once I’m back in Tokyo. Thank you so much Koji, and to anyone reading this, please don’t hesitate booking a tour with him :)

One day Modern Tokyo

Koji is a very knowledgeable and friendly tour guide who shared with me the modern aspects of Tokyo from Tsukiji fish market to Akihabara (geek town) and the shopping areas such as Shibuya. This was my first time in Tokyo, and Koji was very attentive to ensuring I experienced all the highlights on a very busy day. Koji travelled over 80 minutes to meet me at my hotel and I appreciated his dedication to getting to know me and my preferences for the tour. I wanted to buy souvenirs for my family, including my young son and daughter. Koji went out of his way to help find the perfect gifts. Although we had a set agenda, Koji kindly suggested other excursions, such as the Hamariku gardens which was a close walk from Tsukiji markets to enjoy the peaceful gardens, and Isakaya taverns to have a snack. There was plenty of time to stroll around Shibuya and Shinjuku and it did not feel rushed. Koji suggested some great food places as I was interested in dining at a traditional sushi small stall (only 6 seats) with counters as I'd always seen this on Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations. I also mentioned my interest in Manga sub-culture and Koji took me to an art gallery with exhibits. I had a great time exploring Koji and would recommend him.

Stephen, I'm glad that I could offer a Tokyo highlight tour that focused on food and entertainment for your business trip! The tour with you reminded me a lot of my memories in California. I appreciate your long review and am sure of your continued success! Koji
