My name is Toshi Nakahara.
I am certified tour guide for both English and Spanish.
I have lived in USA for 15 years in total starting from Iowa when I was in a high school as an AFS exchange student and later in Honolulu, Los Angeles, San Francisco and finally in New Jersey as a business man.
I learned Spanish at Osaka University for Foreign Studies for 4 years and lived in Mexico, Venezuela and Ecuador for more than 5 years in total, and travelled some other countries in Latin America and Spain.
I am a certified Wine sommelier and quite knowledgeable about Japanese Sake.
So in addition to the regular tour of metropolitan Tokyo area and its vicinity, I can take you to very authentic and popular restaurants where you can enjoy wonderful world of Japanese cuisine with some local drink. That is my strength, so to speak.
I can do one day or half day tour for weekends for Metropolitan Tokyo area, but also can cater to the needs of people who want to be guided to some deep, casual and reasonably priced "Izakaya" style drinking places during weekdays after 5:00PM if I am open. I can also guide, if schedule allows, Yokohama, Kamakura, Hakone, Mt. Fuji vecinity, Nikko and some popular places in western Japan like Kyoto, Nara and Osaka as I lived there for many years.
I enjoy talking about many topics such as Japanese culture and of your own country.
My motto is to make visiting friends from overseas experience memorable moments and make them feel at home and happy.

Toshi was the perfect guide for my US family of 5, including 3 teenagers. His English is superb and he was very flexible. He had great recommendations and is extremely knowledgeable. Our trip to Tokyo was amazing thanks to Toshi!
Thank you! I sent a message to you with information about family crest goods.
Toshi was such a great guide and made our trip memorable. With the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and the foreign language, it would have been a challenge to figure things out but with Toshi's help, he showed us some nice things and explained many different things we would have to figure out on our own. He was helpful, patient with my 2 young daughters, and fed us some great food! I would recommend Toshi to anyone as his English is impeccable and he's very knowledgable. Will hire again next time I am in Tokyo! Thank you Toshi for all your help.
Randy Thank you for your comments. I will be glad to be your guide again. Please come back again! May be on the way to another Disney resort in Asia?
Toshi worked hard on my itinerary and was adaptable to last minute changes which was wonderful Unfortunately I met a couple on our cruise which ended in Tokyo who wanted to join us touring Tokyo. It was my mistake to allow this. Toshi did his best to accommodate them. They offered me no money to pay Toshi. They turned out to be an annoyance. Once they left we all relaxed and had a wonderful time. Toshi did his best to accommodate them even though they were NOT his responsibility. I will definitely recommend Toshi to any friends traveling to Tokyo
Marylin Thank you very much for your comments. It was, as you say, very difficult for both of us to accommodate people who had different spectrum of values and set of morals. But these things happen in our life. At least we managed have a good time after they left us. That was a bright side, wasn't ? If you were happy, I am happy. (PS) Let's forget about that couple. We probably will not see them and they probably will not send any messages. They are gone!
Very nice person, very knowledgeable, very interesting. The entire day was just a wonderful experience.
Joseph and Anne Thank you very much for nice review and overwhelming gift at the end. I enjoyed very much your company and I hope our road will cross some time in the future. Hope you survive the Typhoon...
