About Tour Guide Fumie U.
I am Fumie Ueda, a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter in Atami, Shizuoka, only 50 minutes away from Tokyo by Shinkansen trains.
Atami is conveniently located at the foot of the Hakone mountains, and the base of the Izu Peninsula. It is also close to Mt. Fuji and the Shimizu Port in Shizuoka. I am excited to show you around beautiful places that I love.
I grew up in Yokohama, spent 1 year as a high school exchange student in Allentown, PA in the US, went to college and lived/worked in Tokyo for about 10 years before coming to this beautiful onsen resort.
After becoming a guide, I met with guests from various backgrounds, and I feel grateful once again, for my experience to be exposed to different cultures in my youth.

A Day-Trip from Shimizu Port, Customized for You!
Would you like to enjoy a nice day-trip starting from Shimizu? I will offer you a fully-customized itinerary to make as many of your wishes come true as possible. In north-east of Shimizu, you have Mt. Fuji, sacred sites related to the mountain and green tea farms. In the west, you will see central Shizuoka, with a castle ruin park, green tea merchant district and a fabulous shrine. On top of a hill near Shimizu is Nihondaira area with a superb view and the gorgeous Kunozan Shrine.
Atami Tour Customized for You!
Atami is a small onsen resort only 48 min. from Tokyo on Shinkansen trains. It is one of the oldest spa resorts in Japan and historically it has been an attractive retreat for celebrities. But it has rustic charms to offer, too. If you are tired of traveling in big cities, why don’t you visit Atami and spend a day or two and find spots off the unbeaten path.
A Pleasant Day at Hakone--Nature, History, Fine Art & more!
Hakone is a volcanic mountain and onsen hot spring resort about 1 hour from Tokyo, en route to Kyoto. It is efficient to travel around the Lake Ashi, Hakone Shrine, volcanic fumarole, museums and historical sites using a Hakone Free Pass or by a chartered car. If there is any particular place you wish to visit, please let your guide know your request!
A Stopover from Shinkansen for Mt. Fuji and Green Tea Farm
Traveling from Tokyo to Kyoto? Why don't you break your journey at Fujinomiya? It is at the southwestern skirt of Mt. Fuji, and is easily accessible for people traveling on Shinkansen train. Why don't you enjoy view of Mt. Fuji, a historical shrine worshipping the sacred mountain (World Heritage Site), a fine museum and a green tea farm?
A Day Excursion to Kamakura
This is a day tour to enjoy the best of Kamakura, a medieval city of samurai warriors, surrounded by hills facing the ocean. During the late 12th to early 14th centuries zen and other popular schools of buddhism flourished there, and therefore, Kamakura has many beautiful temples in a lush green setting. It is possible to arrange your tour to suit your needs and interests, such as zen vegetarian meals or a short hiking.
