After the hotel meetup, in the original plan, the tour starts from visiting Ueno Park, walking around the big pond, checking out Toshogu Shrine and Saigo Statue. Afterwards, depending on the preference, visiting the Ueno Zoo or National Museum (or not). Grabbing lunch nearby, then heading out to Ameyoko Shotengai closeby, potentially trying karaoke & game centers as well. Last, heading to Shibuya to check out the famous Shibuya Crossing, wrapping up shopping/dining/entertainment you like.
This itinerary can be customized to meet your needs and preferences. Send me a message with your requests!
Meeting Point
Lobby at your hotel
- I will come pick you up at your hotel.
Ueno Park
Arrival time depends on your hotel location. We can walk around the big pond in the park, enjoying the nature and visit the temple or iconic statue there.
Tokyo National Museum
We can visit Tokyo National Museum after the walk in the Ueno Park. The guide can either wait outside so that you can take your time or go in together if you prefer (English materials prepared by the museum will be available.) The admission rate is around 1,000 yen per person.
Lunch
Lunch nearby. I will list up several restaurants depending on the type of food you would like to try around the area. (Please note that the Ueno area is crowded so we might have to wait sometime to sit in the table depending on the timing.)
Ameyokoshotengai
We can walk the shopping road called Ameyokoshotengai just outside the Ueno Park. We can get some snack to eat on the go or window shop. Also, we can visit game centers there to try the Japanese style purikura, crane catcher or other games. We may also visit a karaoke shop to try genuine karaoke for a short period of time, if you are up to it. How much time we spend depends on what you would like to try or skip.
Asakusa sensoji
Head out by subway train to Asakusa to check out the famous Sensoji temple and nakamisedori.
Shibuya
After spending sometime in Asakusa, we can head out to Shibuya by train. First we can check the famous scramble crossing in Shibuya and then statue nearby. Afterwards, we can do some shopping or go to a cafe to rest a bit. Here we can explore some karaoke shops or game centers too, if you liked it in Ueno. After activities, we can wrap up the trip by dinner, for which again I can list up some restaurants depending on what you want to try.

I am a bilingual local who lives in Japan and enjoys travelling myself. I don't have industry experience specific to tourism per se but do have experience welcoming/entertaining international guests visiting Japan for work. I genuinely love to help people visiting Japan have a fond memory and experience in Japan while they stay. I will do my best to cater to all different requests and needs of customers, whether it is about types of places to visit, dietary preferences/restrictions, etc.

“Great tour guide Ken! ”
Ken was a great guide, showing us the sights and helping us with all our random questions! Without him we would have not known the correct etiquette at the Shrines and Temples, and understanding the differences. His English was great and he was friendly, kind and accommodating to our needs throughout the day - taking lots of great photos of us along the way. Even got to have a sing along at the Karaoke! I would highly recommend Ken :D
