After the hotel meetup, in the original plan, the tour starts from visiting Ueno Park, walking around the big pond, checking out Toshogu Shrine and Saigo Statue. Afterwards, depending on the preference, visiting the Ueno Zoo or National Museum (or not). Grabbing lunch nearby, then heading out to Ameyoko Shotengai closeby, potentially trying karaoke & game centers as well. Last, heading to Shibuya to check out the famous Shibuya Crossing, wrapping up shopping/dining/entertainment you like.
This itinerary can be customized to meet your needs and preferences. Send me a message with your requests!
Meeting Point
Lobby at your hotel
- I will come pick you up at your hotel.
Ueno Park
Arrival time depends on your hotel location. We can walk around the big pond in the park, enjoying the nature and visit the temple or iconic statue there.
Tokyo National Museum
We can visit Tokyo National Museum after the walk in the Ueno Park. The guide can either wait outside so that you can take your time or go in together if you prefer (English materials prepared by the museum will be available.) The admission rate is around 1,000 yen per person.
Lunch
Lunch nearby. I will list up several restaurants depending on the type of food you would like to try around the area. (Please note that the Ueno area is crowded so we might have to wait sometime to sit in the table depending on the timing.)
Ameyokoshotengai
We can walk the shopping road called Ameyokoshotengai just outside the Ueno Park. We can get some snack to eat on the go or window shop. Also, we can visit game centers there to try the Japanese style purikura, crane catcher or other games. We may also visit a karaoke shop to try genuine karaoke for a short period of time, if you are up to it. How much time we spend depends on what you would like to try or skip.
Asakusa sensoji
Head out by subway train to Asakusa to check out the famous Sensoji temple and nakamisedori.
Shibuya
After spending sometime in Asakusa, we can head out to Shibuya by train. First we can check the famous scramble crossing in Shibuya and then statue nearby. Afterwards, we can do some shopping or go to a cafe to rest a bit. Here we can explore some karaoke shops or game centers too, if you liked it in Ueno. After activities, we can wrap up the trip by dinner, for which again I can list up some restaurants depending on what you want to try.

I am a bilingual local who lives in Japan and enjoys travelling myself. I don't have industry experience specific to tourism per se but do have experience welcoming/entertaining international guests visiting Japan for work. I genuinely love to help people visiting Japan have a fond memory and experience in Japan while they stay. I will do my best to cater to all different requests and needs of customers, whether it is about types of places to visit, dietary preferences/restrictions, etc.

Customized shopping and sightseeing tour on the special day

“The most perfect guide for your day in Tokyo ”
Ken-san was the best guide I have ever had from every country I have visited till to this day. He’s fluent in both English and Japanese. I asked for a personal tour and he had scheduled the most perfect plan just as I wanted. And he knows which shop is the best when it comes to shopping. He has a great knowledge of the places in Tokyo and helped me a lot to learn about facilities in Japan. He was able to make each moment of the day filled with joy by his sense of humor and laughs. It felt like I’m traveling with my best friend than a guide. He’s a huge fan of the most goated anime JoJo bizarre adventures. And don’t forget; his favorite colour is red haha If you are traveling in Japan without Ken-san as your guide ,think again ! Thank you so much Ken-san. Most definitely willing to meet up again in future and go for Karaoke.

Thank you very much for your kind comments and sharing details about the tour experience. I am humbled with the very nice feedback you kindly provided. I am so happy that you liked our personal customized tour plan. I really appreciate this experience as it made me much more confident about the various list of appealing things that travelers to Japan might possibly want to see, whether it is shopping or sightseeing. I am glad that both of us truly enjoyed each other’s company. Inspired by your wide range of interest in Japanese culture, including but not limited to manga and animation, I will work on developing my knowledge about big manga titles other than Jojo! Thank you so much, Yoshisuke-san! I agree. We should meet up again in the future for Karaoke. I hope you have a great time filled with a lot of fun memories, for the rest of your stay this time in Japan (and the next times on).

“Excellent day out with Naoto ( aka Ken )”
From start to finish the whole day was very enjoyable and informative. Naoto took great care in showing us a huge selection of Japanese history and culture along with the modern side of Japan. His English is excellent and his manner is one of kindness and great humour. He tailored our tour to suit our requirements which was to see and experience the non tourist areas to give us a sense of the Japanese way of life and he certainly did that with style and grace. We finished the fantastic day by celebrating with Naoto in a British Pub, Japanese style and a great day was had by all. Thank you Naoto for a brilliant experience and Mandie and I wish you well for your future tours.
