Hi, thanks for checking out my profile! I'm Richard, originally from England and now living in Kanazawa, Japan. I've been here for four years and have grown to love this amazing city and the surrounding Ishikawa prefecture. With help from my wife and her family, who were born and raised in Kanazawa, I’ve discovered not only the famous sights and places to eat and shop, but also some of the lesser-known hidden gems. Whether you're into history, food, gaming, art, or shopping, there's something here for everyone. I'd love to help you explore it all! Interested in local history and culture? Keen to try incredible hidden food spots? Want to shop for records, fashion and quirky items? Got a craving to go hunting for retro and/or modern video games? I have you covered! I also have a 7-seater car, so I can take you to exciting places beyond Ishikawa if you're up for it! Reach out and ask me anything, I am always happy to help!

In 2025, it's the 3rd year as a private tour guide. I speak English and German a little. My hobbies are knitting, handicrafts of earrings and keychains, writing & reading novels in Japanese, and searching for good cafes. Next year, I'm about starting to garden for vegetables and harbs. The main place of a tour is Nagasaki city, including the war hisotory spots. I'd like to guide you to the cities of Sasebo, Saikai, and Unzen, too, if you hope. But I don't have a driving lisence, so transport while your tour is necessary. I'm good at a family tour for your young kids, too. I like kids, so I'd like to suggest some ideas for their playing in the Nagasaki prefecture.

Certified Domestic Tour Conductor — ensuring safe, smooth, and memorable travel in Japan. Hello! My name is Ken (Kenichi), and I’m a professional tour guide specializing in private car tours throughout Tokyo and nearby regions. As of Dec 2025, I’ve guided over 1,700 foreign travelers (370+ tours), offering comfortable, customized experiences by car. In addition to my experience, I am officially certified as a Licensed Domestic Tour Conductor (Itinerary Control Manager) under Japan’s Travel Agency Law. This nationally recognized qualification ensures that I can professionally manage itineraries, prioritize safety, and provide worry-free travel experiences — the same standards required for group tours operated by major Japanese travel companies. With over 30 years of work experience in both Japanese and international companies in Tokyo, I’ve gained deep insights into the city and its hidden gems. I’m also an avid traveler, having visited famous destinations across Japan and more than 40 countries worldwide. I understand the challenges many first-time visitors face in Japan, especially when navigating the busy and complex city of Tokyo. That’s why I focus on private car tours, which allow you to explore more places in less time, all in comfort and without the stress of public transportation. My tours are fully customized to your needs and include a dedicated driver — my wife — who remains on standby nearby, allowing us to move smoothly and efficiently without relying on taxis or trains. Whether you’re looking for iconic landmarks, quiet gardens, or local culture, I’ll create an efficient and enjoyable itinerary just for you. I look forward to making your visit to Japan safe, smooth, and deeply rewarding.

I have been an Interpretive Tour Guide for over 20 years. I landed in Japan with the United States Air Force in 1983 and have been learning, tasting and enjoying Japanese food all this time! Woohhoooo!! As an ex-Executive Assistant Food and Beverage Manager/Director, I know food, most of all Japanese food, and I want to show you how fun and incredible it is! I promise your time with me will be fruitful, (get the pun?) making some amazing memories along the way. I used to do daytime cultural tours until the pandemic left us out in the cold for three years so I had to switch over and do something else in which now I run a food tent and a food truck, making delicious smash burgers and tacos. Even though I was number one on a renowned travel platform for a while, I have selected to only do evening food and sake tours now. I also run a children's food bag program three days a week that we started about a year and a half ago. So if you would like me to take you around, I will still give you cultural and historical information, feed you amazing food and create some great memories for you to take home.

Hello! My name is Natsuko. Thank you for visiting my page. I used to work for a trading company, which gave me the opportunity to use English with overseas business partners. After leaving the company, I became an English teacher for children and I discovered that I really enjoy spending time with kids. I also had the experience of being a host family for international students, and it was so fulfilling to show them around various tourist spots and see them happy. I hope you can have a wonderful experience in Japan too! Would you like to join one of my fun tours? I look forward to seeing you again!

Hello! I’m Your Friendly Guide to Japan’s Kanto Region I’m based in the beautiful Tochigi Prefecture and absolutely love sharing Japan’s amazing culture, history, and hidden spots with visitors like you. Before doing tour guiding, I was a public school teacher, so I’m great at making stories come alive and helping you really connect with the places we visit. I speak Japanese at an advanced level (N2), and I’ve spent a lot of time exploring Japan—from living a year in the peaceful town of Kamishihoro in Hokkaido to wandering the bustling streets of Tokyo. This means I can give you insider tips and deep insights that go beyond the usual tourist trails. *What I Offer* I mainly guide around the Kanto area, which includes Tokyo, Yokohama, Saitama, Ibaraki, Gunma, and of course, Tochigi. Here are some of the fun tours I can take you on: - **Utsunomiya Cultural Immersion:** Spend a day discovering the unique charm and tasty eats of Utsunomiya. - **Tokyo All-in-One:** Explore both East and West Tokyo in a single day for a full city experience. - **Anime & Pop Culture Tours:** Tailor-made adventures based on your favorite shows, games, and characters. - **Kanto Day Trips:** Visit iconic spots like Nikko’s stunning temples or Kamakura’s historic sites. I also love guiding in other parts of Japan, especially Kyoto—I’ve seen every World Heritage Site there! Plus, I often run tours in Osaka, Nara, Nagoya, Hikone, and more, all easy to reach by train. *Customize Your Journey* Every tour is flexible and designed just for you. To make your trip even more memorable, I’ll create a free, beautifully crafted photo album with music from your tour—perfect for sharing or keeping as a souvenir. Hello, I’m Hiroyo. I was born and brought up in Shizuoka. After living in Tokyo and in England, eventually I came back to Shizuoka. It is really a good place to live. I have been interested in Japanese traditional culture. I used to be in a Kendo(Japanese fencing) club and a Japanese flower arrangement club when I was a student. I got a degree of Sho-dan(first-dan) in Kendo, and a diploma in follower arrangement. I also got a certificate as a Japanese tea instructor. It would be my great pleasure to help you find out more about Japanese culture. Shizuoka is a lovely place to visit. It has many historical sites, traditional culture, abundant nature and a wide variety of local specialties including green tea, wasabi, many kinds of fruits and sea food fresh from the sea! You will be sure to enjoy them. Hope to see you here in Shizuoka!

Hello everyone! My name is Issei, and I was born and raised in Japan. During my university years, I had the opportunity to study abroad in Canada, where I spent a year living in Vancouver. The experience of studying and living in such a multicultural city was truly eye-opening—it gave me a deep appreciation for different perspectives and the joy of connecting with people from all around the world. The kindness and hospitality I received in Canada inspired me to become a guide who can offer the same warmth to visitors in Japan. As your guide, my goal is not only to show you beautiful sights, but also to create authentic experiences where you can feel Japan—its traditions, its modern life, and its hidden gems. Through my tours, I strive to go beyond ordinary sightseeing. Whether it’s exploring vibrant city streets, tasting local flavors, or experiencing unique cultural traditions, I want to make your journey in Japan truly special and unforgettable. I look forward to welcoming you and sharing the heart of Japan together.

However, I became fascinated by the beautiful nature of Nagano prefecture and decided to move here to the Yatsugatake Mountains, 1000m above sea level in Nagano a few years ago. Since then I go out to look at the breathtaking mountains, lakes, and shrines every day. Hello. I‘m Ken. I’m a certified guide for the city of Kyoto. I live just in between Kyoto and Osaka. My hobbies are tennis, swimming, and windsurfing in the summer. Kyoto is a city with over 1,000 years of history and so many attractions that it‘s difficult to see everything in one day. My tour includes highlights of Kyoto's popular spots making the most of your time. However, all of these can be customized based on your requests. I'll suggest spots to see based on your preferences, such as quiet areas away from the crowds. I'd love to work with you to create a plan that will be wonderful memories. I look forward to seeing you!

Hello! I'm Stephen. Originally from London, I've had the privilege of calling Tokyo my home for the past 20-odd years. Japan is a beautiful country, and my first visit here left me deeply touched by the kindness of numerous strangers. Whether this is your first visit or you're returning to explore more, I hope our encounter will be memorable and will add to your experience of this wonderful country. Tokyo is a jazz lover's paradise and is truly blessed with a large number of good joints, from intimate underground spots to historic venues. As a jazz fan, I love exploring the city's live jazz clubs and unique jazz kissas (cafés). Live jazz clubs are fantastic - there's nothing quite like the excitement of a performance unfolding in real time, with the energy shared between the musicians and the audience. I believe live jazz is at its best when it's close, warm, and communal - which is why I'm particularly fond of the smaller, more intimate clubs favored by talented local and visiting musicians. Jazz kissas offer a very different, yet equally captivating experience - they are relaxed spaces to enjoy carefully selected vinyl played on high-quality systems, and sometimes learn from a passionate owner about all things jazz through conversation. Many kissas are also known for their Nel drip coffee - a slow, hand-poured method using a cotton cloth filter, a Japanese favorite rarely seen elsewhere. On my tours, we can explore a jazz-rich neighborhood such as Kichijoji or Shimokitazawa, join a local jam session (if you're a musician), or do a 'jazz kissa crawl', visiting two or three kissas in one evening to experience their different expressions. I can offer personalized tours tailored to your musical interests. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or requests!

Hello! Thank you so much for your interest in having me as your tour guide. I am a national licensed guide-interpreter based in Tokyo, with a background in art, design, and the creative industries. I have guided over 200 guests from around the world, including families, couples, and solo travelers, on both classic Tokyo highlights and more tailored cultural experiences. Beyond the popular districts like Shinjuku, Harajuku, and Shibuya, I love introducing hidden gems—stylish cafés, vintage clothing stores, contemporary architecture, craft markets, and unique cultural spots connected to everyday life in Japan. I also enjoy hiking, traveling to nature-rich destinations, and working with plants as part of my creative work. Because of that, I am very comfortable guiding tours that blend the city with nature, such as day trips to Hakone for onsen, art museums, scenic spots, and beautiful views of Mt. Fuji. Whether you’re interested in fashion, architecture, seasonal flowers, or a deeper dive into Japanese lifestyle and design, I can tailor your tour to your personal interests and pace. Families with children are also very welcome, I often support family trips and know how to make the day smooth and enjoyable for everyone :) If you are looking for a guide who combines culture, creativity, and mobility, I would be delighted to show you a side of Japan that fits your style. Looking forward to helping you make wonderful memories in Japan!

Enjoy not only Guided tour but also Professional photo shoot in Kyoto! "Hi, my name is Koichi. I am a licensed tour guide specializing in Kyoto. I can take memorable picture of you by using my own authentic camera and lens. Photo shoot experience is included in guide fee. I have a great love for Kyoto City, from its major tourist attractions to some of its lesser known, tranquil and peaceful sites. I would be glad to conduct the tour according to your interests and share with you my knowledge of the city's rich history as well as its cultural and seasonal events. Since both my high school and university days were located in Kyoto, I know not only all the city’s shrines and temples but also great local restaurants that serve traditional Japanese cuisine at a reasonable price. As an added bonus, I am an experienced, award winning photographer and I would be happy to take photos of you during the tour with my DSLR camera and then email them to you after the tour. Additionally, I love motorcycle touring as my hobby and I enjoy taking pictures of Kyoto’s beautiful landscape. Therefore, talking about and showing off Kyoto’s scenery with my guests is one of my pleasures as well as explaining the traditional Kyoto culture. My native city of Otsu is famous for Lake Biwa which is located just 10 minutes train ride from Kyoto station. It is not only an ideal location for the easy access to the ancient capital city but also for having an amazing visitor’s viewing location. Therefore, whether you are wishing to explore Kyoto’s traditional heritage, sample the fantastic food that Kyoto offers or take a trip off the beaten path, I am the guide for you!
