About Tour Guide Yukiko F.
I'm Yukiko Fujii. I'm a Licensed Tour Guide and a Registered Nurse. I've worked as a guide since 2015. Thanks to increasing repeat, referred and new clients, tour guide is my main job. I've done virtual experience on Amazon and company events during the last 3 years pandemic. Since I am one of a few guides who tried virtual tour in Tokyo during pandemic, it was a challenging, but it was definitely a great step and enhanced my guiding skills.
I was born and raised in Tokyo. I am a mother so that I'd be glad to welcome families with young children as well.
I used to teach Japanese cultures to elementary students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 at local and private elementary schools when I lived in Canada, United states, and New Zealand. My happiest moments with these children were when they look forward to another lesson every week. All lessons were customized and prepared after discussing with each classroom teacher. It was a challenging job, but this experience broaden my horizon and prompted me to become an English tour guide.
I have a license of Registered Nurse and a Medical interpreter. I've still worked as a nurse during the off- tourism season so that I've kept a medical back ground. There are some common thinking between Tour guide and Nurse, both jobs are required to put myself into their shoes. I'll make plans considering their physical conditions and will arrange any supports after discussing about the tour. I've already experienced to do several tours for mobility challenged clients who have intractable disease and have a difficulty for a long walking. Mobility challenged customers (cane/wheelchair) are always welcomed.

One day Tour-Private customized tour for mobility challenged customers
For wheel chair and cane users, it might be challenging to visit many spots in Tokyo. Some barriers on the way like steps and hills, getting on the train. It is very important to organize everything well in advance in order to fit their health conditions and paces. After hearing your condition, I will make a tentative itinerary. I had experienced to work as a nurse at hospital and also toured for some mobility challenged guests. Please feel free to contact with me and enjoy your trip!

“Great guide experience for Tokyo and Hakone”
First, having a guide for Tokyo was incredibly helpful for us. While the subway/trains are easy to use, having a guide allowed us to be more efficient with our time and to see more sites in our limited time. Second, Yukiko was an excellent fit for our group of 4 adult travelers. She worked with us ahead of the visit to fully customize what we wanted to see. She set the agenda to minimize travel and provide welcome breaks. And, most important, she was a true pleasure to be with for 3 days. She was knowledgeable, fun (we made origami cranes one day at lunch) and committed to providing a great travel experience to us. I highly recommend working with her on your next visit

I am so pleased to have such a heartfelt review, thank you so much! For the three days we spent together in Tokyo and Hakone were memorable for me as well. Every site were beautiful with rich nature and history. Meeting local artisans, learning craftmanship and cultural experiences were also enjoyable parts of our time. “Full day tour with Yukiko”
Yukiko greeted us at our hotel, was friendly, warm and knowledgeable. She explained the train system, customs and words/phrases. We first went to Imperial Garden where she provided visual information as well as interesting facts about Japanese royal families. We were so lucky to see cherry blossoms in bloom on the premises, as well as a beautiful garden with a pond and koi. Next we went to Asakusa and had amazing pork tonkatsu, during lunch she had a cute origami craft for my daughter to try while we waited for lunch. Yukiko provided info on the various shrines, typical customs, and the shopping area. She even had umbrellas for us to use as it was raining off and on throughout the day. We were very happy that Yukiko was with us during our first trip to Japan.

“Half day Meiji shrine, Harajuku, Shibuya ”
Yukiko went out of her way to accommodate our schedule: first meeting us after we finished TeamLabs Borderless, bringing us to a lovely lunch area, providing us with historical facts and arranging a treasure hunt for my daughter at Meiji Shrine, tour of Takeshita Street in Harajuku where we had a cute experience at Purikura land NOA photobooth and Shibuya scramble crossing. She went out of her way to make sure the food my daughter consumed did not have any nuts, during lunch and at the churro place in Harajuku. Yukiko also had an activity for my daughter while we were waiting for our lunch. Along the way, Yukiko taught us Japanese words/phrases, how the train system works and was so easy to talk to. She was part of our family for the today. Thank you Yukiko!
