About Tour Guide Yukiko F.
I'm Yukiko. I'm a Licensed Tour Guide and a Registered Nurse. I've worked as a guide since 2015. Thanks to increasing repeat, referred and new clients, tour guide is my main job.
I was born and raised in Tokyo. I am 3T lover- Travel, Tea ceremony and Traditional and modern arts. I am a mother so that I'd be glad to welcome families with young children.
I used to teach Japanese cultures to elementary students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 at local and private elementary schools when I lived in Canada, United states, and New Zealand. My happiest moments with these children were when they look forward to another lesson every week. All lessons were customized and prepared after discussing with each classroom teacher. It was a challenging job, but this experience broaden my horizon and prompted me to become an English tour guide.
My main tour area are Tokyo, Kamakura, Yokohama, Hakone, Mt. Fuji, Gunma and Nikko. It's a private personalized tour so that I'd be happy to discuss about it with you in advance to make your tour pleasant. We can include Japanese cultural experiences if you'd like.
I also have done virtual experience on Amazon and company events during the last 3 years pandemic. I took the plunge, it was definitely a great step and enhanced my guiding skills.
I have a license of Registered Nurse and a Medical interpreter. I've still worked as a nurse during the off- tourism season so that I've kept a medical back ground. I've experienced to do several tours for mobility challenged clients who have intractable disease and have a difficulty for a long walking. Mobility challenged customers (cane/wheelchair) are always welcomed.
I'd love to make your trip meaningful and unforgettable. Please feel free to contact with me anytime.

“Great time with Yukiko at Tokyo National Museum”
Yukiko was very helpful in navigating us through the museum and ensuring we saw the highlights while also following our lead. She brought some extra items, like calligraphy paper, in her bag as well as showed additional photos on her ipad which was a nice touch and allowed us to learn even more and have a more in depth experience. We very much enjoyed our time and her company!

“Yukiko - The best of the best ”
Yukiko was amazing from the start. She came dressed in a traditional komono. She prepared a unique booklet for the sites we were going to visit, but as we got tired, she immediately gave us other options. We explored true back streets where few tourists go. Her knowledge is encyclopedic but is presented in an easy to digest way. We traveled by taxi and subway.

“Best Guide Ever!”
Somehow, I was able to find Yukiko and saw a great review about her services as a guide, and that if we wanted to book her services, you needed to book early since she is in high demand. I was able to contact Yukiko and reserve our time. She is an excellent communicator and as our time for our trip grew closer, she asked what we wanted to see and do. We opted to go for more historical Japan, as opposed to tourist Japan. Yukiko outlined a suggested itinerary that covered multiple sights and areas everyday we would be touring with her. Her suggestions were spot on and our time with her was not only educational, but she has an ability to fit in with the group very easily and made it very fun! Yukiko was also very helpful in educating us on navigating the trains, buses, money, etc. She also helped us buy tickets to get to our next city on the Shinkansen line. Her suggestions for meals was excellent and started our quest for the next great meal. Yukiko went the extra mile, and on day two wore a traditional kimono. For each of the sights we went to, she had prepared a slide show on her tablet that explained the history, and details of each site. That extra touch really helped us to understand not only the cultural aspect, but gave us visual insight into why or how things were done. Her level of preparation for each tour/sight is impressive and shows her dedication to be the best at what she is doing. I highly recommend Yukiko as a tour guide, and recommend that you follow her suggestions on sights and areas of Tokyo to see. At the end of our time with Yukiko, everyone in my family felt like she was a actual member of the family and had made a connection with everyone on an individual basis. Unfortunately, there is only so many characters available to leave my review - otherwise, I would go into more detail on each area we went to and what she did at each sight. If anyone has any questions, feel free to contact me.

Koichiro Y.
Hello! I’m Koichiro. Please call me “Yamasan”. It derives from my family name and my friends call me so. I worked for a machinery company as a project manager and engineer for mechanical and electrical construction projects both domestic and overseas for over 35 years. I recall my first overseas project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia when I was 26, and the second was in Singapore. I visited many countries for surveys, meetings, commissioning, project handing over, and so on. In 2014 at the age of 60, I decided to retire from the company and live the expected further 30 years of life with a new career and experiences. I, then, studied translation and guide interpretation. I passed the national examination for licensed guides (English) in 2015 and registered with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government in February 2016. Until now, I have been guiding many beautiful guests mainly to popular sightseeing spots such as Asakusa, Tsukiji, Omote-Sando, Meiji Jingu Shrine, and Tokyo Skytree, and also cultural experiences of Origami making, Furoshiki wrapping, and Sushi cooking. I am happy that I can freely arrange a customized tour together with you, or can propose my tours to you. I want to show you some parts of daily Tokyo life and introduce you to Bunkyo City which is located in the heart of Tokyo, just north of Chiyoda City where the Imperial Palace and Tokyo Station are. The city is Tokyo’s typical residential and academic area where I was born, grew up, and live a happy life now. Now, we can tour around the world but have not yet overcome COVID-19 completely. Recently, the number of passengers wearing masks on public transportation in Tokyo reduced to some 25% but we should mind about it still. Please carry your mask to wear it where or when necessary (December 2024, Yamasan).

Grant A.
Important note: I am currently not able to take new customers after the end of March, 2026. My name is Grant, and I’ve spent over a decade living and exploring Japan. Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, I first came to Japan as a high school exchange student in Inuyama, a historic castle town in Aichi. My love for Japan began early—sparked by childhood games like Pokémon that were released in Japanese before English. That early curiosity grew into a lifelong passion for Japanese language, culture, and history. I hold an N2 on the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, a degree in Asian Studies from a Tokyo university, and I graduated from the Japan Visual Media Translation Academy. I’ve visited all 47 prefectures and explored a wide range of historical sites, shrines, and castles throughout the country. My background in Japanese history helps me provide context that brings depth and meaning to the places we visit—whether it's understanding a centuries-old temple in Kyoto, the story behind a castle ruin, or uncovering the historical layers of a Tokyo neighborhood. If you’re planning to explore Tokyo, here are some tour options to consider: One day in Tokyo? The Ginza Line Tour offers a great introduction to the city’s highlights. Two days? Pair the East Tokyo Tour and West Tokyo Tour to get a well-rounded experience. Interested in anime? The Anime Tour is flexible and can be tailored to match your specific interests. For those looking to go beyond the city, I also offer day trips to Nikko, Kamakura, and other nearby destinations. Full-Day Tour: 40,000 yen (8 hours) Full-Day Tour Outside of Tokyo: 40,000 yen + transportation Feel free to get in touch to plan a tour that fits your interests and travel plans.
