About Tour Guide Yukiko F.

I'm Yukiko Fujii. I'm a Licensed Tour Guide and a Registered Nurse. I've worked as a guide since 2015. Thanks to increasing repeat, referred and new clients, tour guide is my main job. I've done virtual experience on Amazon and company events during the last 3 years pandemic. Since I am one of a few guides who tried virtual tour in Tokyo during pandemic, it was a challenging, but it was definitely a great step and enhanced my guiding skills.

I was born and raised in Tokyo. I am a mother so that I'd be glad to welcome families with young children as well.

I used to teach Japanese cultures to elementary students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 at local and private elementary schools when I lived in Canada, United states, and New Zealand. My happiest moments with these children were when they look forward to another lesson every week. All lessons were customized and prepared after discussing with each classroom teacher. It was a challenging job, but this experience broaden my horizon and prompted me to become an English tour guide.

I have a license of Registered Nurse and a Medical interpreter.  I've still worked as a nurse during the off- tourism season so that I've kept a medical back ground. There are some common thinking between Tour guide and Nurse, both jobs are required to put myself into their shoes. I'll make plans considering their physical conditions and will arrange any supports after discussing about the tour.  I've already experienced to do several tours for mobility challenged clients who have intractable disease and have a difficulty for a long walking. Mobility challenged customers (cane/wheelchair) are always welcomed.

I'd love to make your trip meaningful and unforgettable. Please feel free to contact with me anytime.

I'm looking forward to meeting you in my tour! Arigatou!

Full day tour with Yukiko

Yukiko greeted us at our hotel, was friendly, warm and knowledgeable. She explained the train system, customs and words/phrases. We first went to Imperial Garden where she provided visual information as well as interesting facts about Japanese royal families. We were so lucky to see cherry blossoms in bloom on the premises, as well as a beautiful garden with a pond and koi. Next we went to Asakusa and had amazing pork tonkatsu, during lunch she had a cute origami craft for my daughter to try while we waited for lunch. Yukiko provided info on the various shrines, typical customs, and the shopping area. She even had umbrellas for us to use as it was raining off and on throughout the day. We were very happy that Yukiko was with us during our first trip to Japan.

Half day Meiji shrine, Harajuku, Shibuya

Yukiko went out of her way to accommodate our schedule: first meeting us after we finished TeamLabs Borderless, bringing us to a lovely lunch area, providing us with historical facts and arranging a treasure hunt for my daughter at Meiji Shrine, tour of Takeshita Street in Harajuku where we had a cute experience at Purikura land NOA photobooth and Shibuya scramble crossing. She went out of her way to make sure the food my daughter consumed did not have any nuts, during lunch and at the churro place in Harajuku. Yukiko also had an activity for my daughter while we were waiting for our lunch. Along the way, Yukiko taught us Japanese words/phrases, how the train system works and was so easy to talk to. She was part of our family for the today. Thank you Yukiko!

Yukiko is the best!

My husband and I had the immense pleasure of doing a private tour with Yukiko right before the New Year's holiday. She was very responsive during the booking process, quick to make suggestions based on the vague ideas I gave her, and planned the perfect itinerary for us. She met us promptly for the day, was easy and very enjoyable to talk to, very prepared, and we learned so much from the experience. She was also very adaptive as the day went on; I mentioned I wanted to buy a specific gift for a family member, and she adjusted our itinerary on the fly to make that happen. We have been raving about Yukiko to anyone who asks about our trip and would book her again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!

Hello everyone! I was born and raised in Kawagoe, a historic city next to Tokyo in Saitama. Two years ago, I graduated from a university in Japan, and now I work as a tour guide and study abroad support advisor. Three years ago, I had the opportunity to study abroad in Vancouver, Canada. During my time there, I was warmly welcomed by the locals, and I discovered the joy of immersing myself in a new culture and daily life. I also learned the value and excitement of connecting with people from different backgrounds. That’s why I now want to be the one to support others. As a guide, I aim to make your journey even more special! Through Go with Guide, I want to offer more than just the typical sightseeing experience—I want to provide unique opportunities for you to dive deeper into Japan’s rich culture. I am committed to creating a safe, thoughtful, and enjoyable experience for everyone. Let’s not just visit Japan—let’s feel it. Join me on an unforgettable journey, and together, let’s embrace the true beauty of Japan! I look forward to meeting you!

Born and bred in Tokyo I am still living in the suburbs of Tokyo. I spent several years in the U.S. and the UK and wanted to show international visitors around Japan in return for the hospitality I had received in foreign countries. After coming back from the UK, I obtained the qualification of the National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter. I can guide guests to every corner of Tokyo including areas off the beaten track. As a history fan I can tell you a historical episode behind the scenes. From a local perspective I can explain how we Japanese are getting along. Since I have science and technology backgrounds, I can give you a tour of scientific or technical things as well..

I’m an instructor of sushi making for foreign travelers and got the national license as a tour guide last year. Therefore I can provide a guiding for Tsukiji/Omiya fish market and a private lesson for the traditional sushi making for both. If you are interested in bonsai too, travering omiya is a perfect idea since I can provide for all these. I hope I have a chance to help you for unforgetable Japan travel experience.
