About Tour Guide Keiko O.
Hello! I’m Keiko.
The memories of travels are somehow linked with foods: I absolutely agree with this. How about you? Travel and food are the two things I love, and I would be delighted to share my passion with you!
Before becoming a government licensed guide, I worked for 40 years as a bank manager. Throughout my career, I was always in contact with overseas, communicating with many people from across the world. Also, I lived in London for 3 years and went to elementary school there. Having such a background, I naturally became very much interested in cross-cultural exchange. Whenever I travel abroad, I always try to experience local culture, because it gives me a chance to encounter many interesting things.
As a guide, I wish to not only introduce the beauties and wonders of Japan, but also to take you on a first-hand experience tour of our country, especially focusing on Japanese culinary culture. It will be nice if you can take home what you experienced here and enjoy cooking Japanese dishes in your county – a lasting souvenir! My 40 years’ experience in traditional Japanese kaiseki cuisine might be helpful here.
Come and explore Tokyo with me!

“Exceptional 2 day tour of Tokyo with Keiko.”
Before the tour began, Keiko sent us a well‑planned suggested itinerary covering all the major sights we hoped to visit. It set the stage for an excellent two days. Her clear, fluent English was especially important for me due to hearing difficulties, and she communicated in a way that made everything easy to follow. Keiko was always punctual, well‑prepared, and shared insightful explanations about Tokyo’s history, culture, and neighbourhoods. She also guided us through using the subway, showing us how to purchase a Suica card and navigate the system confidently. This practical help made getting around the city far simpler. Keiko chose a local sushi restaurant for lunch—an authentic spot that offered a nice break from the tourist areas. Overall, Keiko's professionalism, knowledge, and thoughtful support made our Tokyo visit truly memorable, and we would gladly recommend her to others.

Simon-san and Jeannette-san, thank you very much for your lovely comments. You have chosen the perfect time for visiting Japan with the best cherry blossom season, followed by various kinds of flowers blooming one after another throughout the country! I would be most delighted if my introduction of Japan at the outset of your stay was helpful and contributed in a small way to giving you a good impression of our country. The second-best season is autumn. with the changing colour of foliage. I sincerely hope that someday you will come back again to explore more of Japan!

Thank you very much for your wonderful comment, as well as for posting the photo taken from 450 meters above ground. We were blessed with a beautiful weather, and the elegant Mt. Fuji joined me in welcoming you to Tokyo. I hope the rest of your stay will be fruitful and enjoyable, bringing back nice memories along with a Kitty-bag-full of cute souvenirs!

“Fantastic Food and History Tour of Tokyo”
Keiko-san is the perfect guide. Punctual, knowledgeable, adaptable and kind. She has an extensive knowledge of historical Tokyo and the culture and loves to share it. We learnt so much visiting the Shrines and Temples of the history of Japan from her. Keiko was able to answer all our questions regarding Japanese food/cooking while touring the Tsukiji Market, as well as having inside knowledge of the best stalls to eat at. At the beginning of the tour she explained the metro and ticket system to us which we have used extensively since. Keiko was very accommodating with our itinerary adapting it so we could buy a knife and kitchen wares at the last moment and spent extra time with us to ensure we had the best experience. She truly went above and beyond our expectations. Thank you again Keiko-san

Georgina-san, Greg-san, thank you very much for picking me as your guide, and writing such a wonderful comment for me! I also enjoyed walking in the market with you and hearing your comparison about our food and that of the countries you have lived in, which was really instructive. During your visit to Japan this time, you must have experienced the nature and snow in Hokkaido, the busy city and modern culture in Tokyo. There are a lot more to see in this country, so I sincerely hope that you would come back and continue exploring some day. Keiko

Being a former student and staff member of the University of Tokyo, I have a natural ability to communicate with people from all corners of the world. Regardless of whether you prefer to speak English, French, or Globish with me ! I have practiced Aikido, Iaido (Katana), and Kyudo (Bow) martial arts, and I have also worked on the restoration of Japanese armor. Therefore, I am well-versed in the art of war in ancient Japan. But my passion for history goes further, and during my guided tours, I will share various anecdotes that will bring ancient Japan to life for you ! I'm also a huge fan of old Japanese video games, especially RPGs, so if you want a true otaku experience, follow me to Nakano Broadway and Akihabara! If you're interested in arranging a tour that's tailored to your preferences, feel free to send me a message !

Koichiro Y.
Hello! I’m Koichiro. Please call me “Yamasan”. It derives from my family name and my friends call me so. I worked for a machinery company as a project manager and engineer for mechanical and electrical construction projects both domestic and overseas for over 35 years. I recall my first overseas project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia when I was 26, and the second was in Singapore. I visited many countries for surveys, meetings, commissioning, project handing over, and so on. In 2014 at the age of 60, I decided to retire from the company and live the expected further 30 years of life with a new career and experiences. I, then, studied translation and guide interpretation. I passed the national examination for licensed guides (English) in 2015 and registered with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government in February 2016. Until now, I have been guiding many beautiful guests mainly to popular sightseeing spots such as Asakusa, Tsukiji, Omote-Sando, Meiji Jingu Shrine, and Tokyo Skytree, and also cultural experiences of Origami making, Furoshiki wrapping, and Sushi cooking. I am happy that I can freely arrange a customized tour together with you, or can propose my tours to you. I want to show you some parts of daily Tokyo life and introduce you to Bunkyo City which is located in the heart of Tokyo, just north of Chiyoda City where the Imperial Palace and Tokyo Station are. The city is Tokyo’s typical residential and academic area where I was born, grew up, and live a happy life now. Now, we can tour around the world but have not yet overcome COVID-19 completely. Recently, the number of passengers wearing masks on public transportation in Tokyo reduced to some 25% but we should mind about it still. Please carry your mask to wear it where or when necessary (December 2024, Yamasan).

I have been working for the business with American companies for many years and have many experiences guiding customers from all over the world, from Japan to the USA and Europe. I lived in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, for five years and loved to drive around Europe, the USA, and Japan. I now have a national license as a guiding interpreter and want to introduce Japanese traditional culture to people worldwide who are interested in it. I can be your guide in Tokyo, Yokohama, and Kamakura for your enjoyable time in Japan.
