Dear Eva san, Thank you very much for such a great review and comment on me. It was heavily raining day but we enjoyed the experience a lot since you requested a great plan! It was wonderful to meet you. I look forward to meeting you next year in Europe or with your family in Japan. See you soon!

A day in Kanazawa and a wonderful drive through Hakuzan National Park

We had a wonderful and full day with Yoji. We started with the Kanazawa castle and then walked through some historic parts of town including the Samurai district. We stopped in at two samurai homes, one quite modest and the other quite grand. Yoji provided tremendous incite and knowledge about Kanazawa's rich history and added a more current context. We then went to the food market where we had a wonderful lunch from three different food stores (yaki-niku, puffer fish and fried eel and shrimp). We ended the day with a beautiful drive through Hakuzan National forest where we were able to see dramatic fall colors during our last day outside of Tokyo. We were ending a month long trip to Japan and feared missing the fall colors. Yoji came up with the perfect solution. Yoji was enthusiastic, fun and a tremendous resource. Thank you for a wonderful day.

Fantastic Kanazawa Guide

We planned a 1/2 day guided walk in Kanazawa and lucked out! Yoji was not only an excellent guide for this ancient city and its most interesting sites, but also a resource for small and unique local shops and special restaurants (that we visited and loved!). Our time with Yogi expanded on day 1 and we hired him for a second half day. Thank you Yogi for sharing your knowledge of this charming city and all of its special places. We didn’t want to leave! Thank you for considering me as your guide! I am excited to become not just your guide, but your friend as we explore Kanazawa together—a city where rich cultural traditions seamlessly blend with modern vibrancy. Being a native of Ishikawa Prefecture, with Kanazawa as its heart, I have a deep connection to this place. Though I spent several years living in New York, I’ve always carried the spirit of Japan with me. Upon returning to Japan, I immersed myself in the travel industry, gaining over a decade of experience and obtaining my guiding license in 2017 while working for successful inbound travel agencies. My time abroad has given me a profound appreciation for Japan’s uniqueness, and my passion for sharing its beauty and culture with travelers has only grown stronger. Now, I am eager to share that enthusiasm with you as we explore Japan together, uncovering hidden gems and experiencing its timeless charm.

Hello, everyone! I'm Lucy, and I'm thrilled to share a bit about myself with you. Originally hailing from the picturesque south of France, my life's journey has woven through the landscapes of both France and Germany, primarily within the realm of fashion and costume design. My heart, however, found its home in the enchanting city of Kanazawa when my husband's career led us here in 2019. Since then, this city has not only become my adopted home, but it's a place I've grown to adore. Now, guiding has become a source of immense joy for me. I cherish the opportunity to meet people from all corners of the world, sharing my knowledge about this incredible city and its cultural tapestry. Beyond the guided tours, my free time is often spent in exploration. Whether uncovering hidden gems in the surroundings or immersing myself in the world of pottery, crafts or hiking. I'm here not just to guide but also to connect, learn, and share the beauty I've discovered in Kanazawa. Looking forward to our journeys together!
