Hello, I'm Yuichi, an English tour guide in Hokuriku region. If you are thinking about traveling to historical places such as Kanazawa, Shirakawa-go and Takayama, I am willing to offer a tour. I can bring you to those popular destinations from my base, Toyama city. These are the examples of my tour: Kanazawa - Shirakawago - Takayama Takaoka - Gokayama - Shirakawago - Takayama Toyama - Tateyama Kurobe Alipne Route - Omachi (Nagano Pref.) During the tour I like to provide simple explanations about Japanese history, and small tips for using the Japanese language on your request. My interests are food, cooking, sake and wine as well as Japanese novels and movies. It would be possible to add those tastes to our tour including a visit to local wineries, movie scenes, etc... Finally, I will do my best to give you a pleasant stay. Looking forward to seeing you in Hokuriku!

Hello, everyone! I'm Lucy, and I'm thrilled to share a bit about myself with you. Originally hailing from the picturesque south of France, my life's journey has woven through the landscapes of both France and Germany, primarily within the realm of fashion and costume design. My heart, however, found its home in the enchanting city of Kanazawa when my husband's career led us here in 2019. Since then, this city has not only become my adopted home, but it's a place I've grown to adore. Now, guiding has become a source of immense joy for me. I cherish the opportunity to meet people from all corners of the world, sharing my knowledge about this incredible city and its cultural tapestry. Beyond the guided tours, my free time is often spent in exploration. Whether uncovering hidden gems in the surroundings or immersing myself in the world of pottery, crafts or hiking. I'm here not just to guide but also to connect, learn, and share the beauty I've discovered in Kanazawa. Looking forward to our journeys together!

Thank you for considering me as your guide! I am excited to become not just your guide, but your friend as we explore Kanazawa together—a city where rich cultural traditions seamlessly blend with modern vibrancy. Being a native of Ishikawa Prefecture, with Kanazawa as its heart, I have a deep connection to this place. Though I spent several years living in New York, I’ve always carried the spirit of Japan with me. Upon returning to Japan, I immersed myself in the travel industry, gaining over a decade of experience and obtaining my guiding license in 2017 while working for successful inbound travel agencies. My time abroad has given me a profound appreciation for Japan’s uniqueness, and my passion for sharing its beauty and culture with travelers has only grown stronger. Now, I am eager to share that enthusiasm with you as we explore Japan together, uncovering hidden gems and experiencing its timeless charm.

Hi! I'm Yukari. I'm a government licensed guide of Kanazawa city.(Kanazawa Visitor's Host) I was originally born and raised in Toyama prefecture. I had moved 2 times within Hokuriku region in my childhood for my fathers job. I've been living in Ishikawa for 16 years in total.(4years in my childhood and 12years since I married. ) I have a family of 4. I'm raising 2boys and have 2dogs. I love animals, nature, music, photos, camping, and good food. So if you feel that I might have a similar taste with you, my tour will bring you a satisfied explore. Here in Kanazawa, tourists have been increasing in number since the opening of Hokuriku Shinkansen in 2015. Many of foreign tourists are walking around throughout the city holding their smartphone by hand. Every time I see those people, I felt that I might be able to do something which make their trip more memorable. This is the reason why I took the license of Kanazawa Visitor's Host and started a local tour guide. Although I've just started as a tour guide in 2018,I sincerely enjoy making a personalized plan that every single guest would be able to make the day here in Kanazawa perfectly. I have ever lived in Toyama, Fukui, Ishikawa, Chiba, Tokyo (Japan),and Toronto (Canada). Hello, my name is Shoten, please call me Sho. I was born in a local area in Toyama prefecture. I majored in civil engineering at a college and am interested in historical infrastructures. After graduation, I continued to study English at a local English circle. In international activities, I also guided foreign people around Toyama Prefecture, Ishikawa Prefecture, and Gifu Prefecture. After retirement, I work as a guide interpreter and a translator. The Hokuriku region has many sightseeing spots, including beautiful landscapes like Kenrokuen Garden and Tateyama, tasty food like traditional Kaga dishes and fresh seafood from Toyama Bay, and traditional crafts like Takaoka copperware and Inami woodcarving. I introduce these spots and historical infra tourism, such as the Kurobe dam and industrial tourism. Originally born in Mexico City, where I spent the first eight years of my life, I grew up in Montreal, Canada, for 22 years. Fascinated by Japanese popular culture and history—I have a minor in Japanese history and am a history buff—I participated in the JET Program Canada, where I was placed in Shirakawa-go for three years as an ALT. Currently, I live in Kanazawa with my Japanese wife and son. As a tour guide in Kanazawa, I specialize in history, hidden gems, culture, shopping (especially Japanese popular culture products), and food. I strive to provide an excellent customer experience. Fluent in English (Native), French (Native), Spanish (Native), and a good grasping of Japanese. I can communicate effectively with a diverse range of guests. Thanks to my North American background and my extensive experience living in Japan, I offer explanations that are easy to understand for Western guests, enriching their understanding of Japan as a vibrant and unique living space. Additionally, I am currently studying to become an official National guide in Japan, further enhancing my expertise and ability to provide exceptional tours.

Nice day in Kanazawa

Haru is a very good guide and a very friendly person. Her English is excellent and she is always ready to talk a lot about Japanese culture. She is very experienced around food (the market is a must-not-miss!) and also managed to find us some great vegan spots. We managed to see a lot of things in only one day without the being rushed through our tour. It was a great experience and we would totally recommend her as your guide. Thank you!

Giuseppe L.

Thank you so much, Giuseppe and everyone! I had a great time with you all. It was a pleasure for me to introduce you some of my favorite spots in Kanazawa. I hope you return home safely and rest well after a long trip. Arigato!!

Kanazawa in 4 hours

Yuriko organized and conducted a wonderful tour of Kanazawa in just 4 hours. We visited Kanazawa Castle, Kenruku -en garden and the Higashi -chaya district, which was the traditional geisha district in the old times. All of these were extremely interesting and brought to life by the excellent English skills of Yuriko. There was a an issue with our railroad tickets that resulted from of neglect and she resolved this in an extremely efficient and polite manner. She was well organized, very polite and knowledgeable. It was a pleasure knowing her. We enthusiastically recommend Yuriko for anyone needing a guide in Japan.

Ahmet G.

Thank you for a wonderful review and kind comments! I'm so happy to read it. I appreciate your generous mind to say such heartwarming words. Kanazawa is so beautiful city and has deep culture. I also had a nice day with you in Kanazawa and during train trip. Please come to Japan again, and please come to Gifu, my hometown next time!
