This is Yuji, Japanese creator, such as painting, illustration, cartoon, and designing for Japanese magazine & advertising. I graduated from college in the US long ago. I used to work for Japanese publishing company for travel and Information magazine. I take lots of foreign friends to many places around Tokyo as a guide. I can take you common famous places, but also I can guide you if you have a special request, such as art, anime, table tennis or something belongs to your interest. For mostly I guide you by using the common transportation. but I also use my car to take you around for a small member of group because my car is so small, mini cooper.
My schedule will be flexible, up to my deadline of works.
All tours can be customized for you. Send me a message with your requests!
“Day 2 immersion into the work of the creatives of Tokyo, Japan”
Yuji: opened the door to the creatives of Tokyo & Japan helping me appreciate their respect for traditional whilst integrating the new ideas. That every mark counts. Highlights: Taro Okamoto memorial museum …. to be in the home & workshop where Taro grew the ethnographic theories of Japanese tradition after experiencing war & the social evolution to modernise. Where he created the Avant-garde works he gifted to us. A powerful experience a reality previously only gain from books. To be in his place, an influential creative was breathtaking. Seeing the creative collection of Nezu Kaichiro in the Nezu Museum. Walking around the garden with the trees in glorious autumn colour & sun sparkled through was gorgeous, komorebi. The handmade eyewear especially that in the Omote Sandi Hills building. Seeing the woodblock prints of Hiroshige & Hokusai I front of me. Showing the attention given to detail in the depiction of images of everyday life & the genius use of colour bring the images alive. Whilst remembering they were over 200 years old. An opportunity for me to consider how their work maybe influenced the creatives of Japanese manga & anime. Eating tasty Japanese food was super nice…. the ramen restaurant & the quirky cool coffee place we fell upon. The fun time in Takeshita street seeing the garb of other venturers & kawaii culture on display; totally adorable. The Suginami Animation Museum with the signatures of the creatives, with favourite 3D models & explanation of the evolution of the creatives famed around the world. The street plan & architecture with the variety of shapes & texture the seamless inclusion of large & tiny is so clever. Walking in Ginza, the Golden Gai, Shibuya & everywhere in between. New creatives in Godzilla Street & Shinjuku! As the day drew to an end we fell upon a wonderful experience; the shop & restaurant owners at the temple. Everyone was invited and there was delicious food to eat whilst you waited.
“Unique Tokyo such fun ”
Lucky me having Yuji as my guide to explore the beautiful, exciting vibrate & truly unique city of Tokyo. We made our way around on trains (underground & overland) all so safe, so clean, quiet & on time. Walked the vibrate & mesmerising streets, each with their own character, crossing safely with time to look & take in the happenings! I experienced the peace & tranquility of Ham-ritual garden in its autumn glory, drink matcha tea & eat cake sat on tatami mats; whilst the sun shone on the inland seawater lake. Saw breathtaking architecture & street design which integrates traditional & new while keeping pace with change; including one of the two kabuk theatres & the Meiji Shinto Shrine. (How will my fortune play out?) Window shopped in Ginza, went into a supermarket to look & souvenir shops & more. Swooning over the anima models & merchandise in Akihabara & stood next to Pikachu & Dragon Ball. We stopped at the digital engineering workshops including the musical artist Mayea Deki. Mindblowing! Eat tasty food in places frequented by locals with sliding doors & super nice chefs. Reading the 3D menu’s . Visited the fish markets; for tourists (with a cookery workshop) & the one used by professionals & Japanese. All alongside Japanese people doing their thing & dressed to express; such a cool vibe. All the time talking in English with Yuri. He was so generous sharing his knowledge, passion. What a treat being with Yuri a truly inspiring creative I have treasured memories to keep & share along with photographs captured though out a fabulous day.
“The best of the best”
Yuji is the best, hands down. Kindest, most accommodating and caring human with a great sense of humor and inspiring outlook on life. Yuji has so much experience in so many wonderful things that making conversation is easy with him- my trip was very different. We visited isolated places neither of us had been before and we experienced a lot of firsts together- and I simply wouldn’t have had it any other way. I could 100 percent count on Yuji and rely on him to keep us safe and always having fun. We met so many locals and because he is so charismatic we made so many friends! I know Yuji-san is forever my friend now and when I arrive in my new home in Japan next year Yuji-san is coming to my house warming party. He’s stylish and cool and has your best interest at heart and mind. I wouldn’t trade my experience with Yuji-san for anything. Thanks for everything Yuji-san!!
