Hello! I’m Keiko.
The memories of travels are somehow linked with foods: I absolutely agree with this. How about you? Travel and food are the two things I love, and I would be delighted to share my passion with you!
Before becoming a government licensed guide, I worked for 40 years as a bank manager. Throughout my career, I was always in contact with overseas, communicating with many people from across the world. Also, I lived in London for 3 years and went to elementary school there. Having such a background, I naturally became very much interested in cross-cultural exchange. Whenever I travel abroad, I always try to experience local culture, because it gives me a chance to encounter many interesting things.
As a guide, I wish to not only introduce the beauties and wonders of Japan, but also to take you on a first-hand experience tour of our country, especially focusing on Japanese culinary culture. It will be nice if you can take home what you experienced here and enjoy cooking Japanese dishes in your county – a lasting souvenir! My 40 years’ experience in traditional Japanese kaiseki cuisine might be helpful here.
Come and explore Tokyo with me!
・I am basically available from Thursday through Sunday. As for Monday through Wednesday, please contact me for availability.

“This was our first time in Japan. Keiko made it memorable!”
Keiko was on time and prepared to greet us. She guided us through the Tsujiki seafood market, Imperial Palace, Meiji Jingu Shrine and Harajuku. She was very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of history and explanation of the locations. It felt great to have a local take us around. Keiko organized the trip very well. It was a rainy day but we managed fine. My family of four used her for a second day. We went to Ueno Park, Sensoji Temple, Tokyo Skytree and Yanaka. Keiko set up a tea ceremony, per request, and it was delightful. The hosts were so welcoming and kind. Our experience with Keiko has been truly memorable. My kids miss her already!

Alice-san, John-san, Zoe-san and Cady-san, it was indeed a pleasure for me to walk two days with your wonderful family! The first day was a battle with the rain, so I was so very much wishing for a nice weather for the second day - and the result, YOU BROUGHT US THE SUN! I tried to introduce both the old side and modern side of Tokyo as much as possible, and would be most delighted if you have become fans of Japan. Please come back again one day, I miss you, too! Keiko

“Tsukiji Market Tour Done Right!”
We had a wonderful experience touring the Tsukiji Fish Market with our guide, Keiko. She was professional, punctual, and spoke perfect English, which made the entire experience seamless and enjoyable. Her historical knowledge of the market was immediately evident and she helped us navigate the maze of stalls, steering us away from the more touristy or lower-quality options and guiding us toward vendors known for their top-notch ingredients. While we initially thought we’d be snacking our way through the market, Keiko suggested a different approach and recommended a sushi restaurant just a few minutes away. She even made reservations for us in advance. Best. Decision. Ever. The meal was outstanding and a perfect way to cap off the morning. Keiko truly knows the market and elevated our experience far beyond what we could have managed on our own. Highly recommend booking with her if you want to experience Tsukiji like a local insider!

Melinda-san, thank you very much for your wonderful comments! From the beginning, you had informed me that you are all food experts as well as food lovers, so I was looking forward very much to introduce our superb products to you and to hear your comments on them. I couldn't be happier if the items that I chose met your expectations and appeased your palate. During your cruise you will perhaps be coming across a great variety of local foods, many of them featuring the natural taste of its ingredients, very simple but very tasty dishes. Please savor Japan! Keiko

“Organized, Informative, Fun!!! (With Family of 5)”
Keiko-san was so well prepared and organized for our tour. I shouldn’t be surprised because she was very responsive right from the beginning. The tour did not seem face paced or rushed, even though we covered a lot of ground. My kids (17, 16, 13) liked hearing about the history of the areas that we visited (Tsujiki, Imperial Palace, and Asakusa) and were comfortable asking questions and chatting with Keiko. It was a stinkin’ hot end of June day, and we all survived!

Joanne-san, thank you very much for your nice comments! Yes, it was indeed a very hot day, wasn't it? I was concerned about how the children would react to tasting a heap of foreign foods and walking around in the blazing sun, but was so glad to find my fear was groundless. I was delighted to find that you were interested not only in our food but also in our culture and history, that I, too, enjoyed the tour with your wonderful family. I hope you have a great time ahead! Keiko
