About Tour Guide Tomoko H.

Japanese culture are very rich and beautiful. Some looks very simple, but if you know the background of designing and how they were used, you will understand it pretty deep and inspiring. It is my pleasure to help visitors enjoy and understand essence of Japanese culture via two-way communication and experience. Before becoming the guide, I had worked with global companies for more than 30 years and I had always enjoyed discussions with my counterparts in foreign countries. I am certifeid Kimono consultant and the experienced tea master, so you can also enjoyed experiences of wearing Kimono and the Tea ceremony in addition to the tours if you would like.

Shinjuku Walking Night Tour

Extremely polite, efficient and friendly

I had the pleasure of meeting Tomoko for our one night tour of Shinjuku. Even though we were staying in Shinjuku, I preferred to hire a guide for the walking tour at night especially for visiting Kabukicho area. She is an excellent guide, very polite, knowledgeable and speaks very good english and communicates well. She gladly customized the tour duration to our need. I wish I had planned some of the day time tours also with her. I would strongly recommend hiring her to get to know more about the places you are visiting.

Thank you very much for very thoughtful and warm comments. Suravi and her parents were very nice family to be with. Our trip time was not long, but I also had a wonderful time with them. She was attentive and showed her interests to every places I guided. I truly hope that they come back again to join my different tour.

An amazing and fun insight into Japanese Culture and Tradition

This was a brilliant trip for us; suitable for children and adults (we are 47, 44, 13 and 10), and holding all of our attention throughout. Tomoko speaks perfect English, was always prompt in answering our questions in the build up to our trip, and even came to pick us up at our hostel and dropped us off at the end of our time with her. We did origami, kimono wearing, furoshiki (gift wrapping with a single piece of cloth) and finished with a tea ceremony (both with her making it and serving us, and then a chance for us all to make it and serve her and each other!) - all at her house. Great instruction, loads of fun and pics, loads of answered questions (on a wide range of topics) and an amazing time had by all. Did not rush us at all. A perfect way for children to experience it all. Would we use her again? Absolutely. Do we recommend her? 100%. Great value for money too.

Please enjoy your rest of traip safely!!

I’m so excited to have a chance to show you around my favorite spots in Kanagawa prefecture. I was born in Kanagawa. I spent my whole school life, including university, here in Kanagawa. I worked as a high school English teacher here for 40 years. I love Kanagawa so much. We have many interesting tourist spots, like Hakone, Kamakura, Enoshima and Yokohama. I got my tour guide license in English in 2009. I am still an English teacher. To give an interesting and impressive lesson to young high school students, I’ve learnt and gathered many kinds of information. I also have a license to teach social studies, so I have a wide range of knowledge about Japanese culture and history. I’m sure to provide you an interesting tour.

I was born and grew up in Yokohama. I used to work in Tokyo for more than 20 years. I became the National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter in English in 2013. At first, I had attended a volunteer group which provided a tour of the Imperial Palace East Gardens until 2015. I guided more than fifty times in the garden as a volunteer and studied about Japanese history and culture. Based on this experience, I became a tour guide of this online site in 2015. Since then, I have guided more than 500 tours in Tokyo as well as Yokohama, Kamakura, Hakone, Kyoto, Nikko, etc., while improving my tours. My tours are very flexible and I always do my best to customize them according to the interests of my guests. I studied about the places and will provide you knowledge to appreciate them more deeply than just visiting there by yourself or a member of group tours. I like foods and I know many restaurants which provide typical Japanese lunch with reasonable price without waiting too long. Therefore, I am sure that I can provide you the best tours customized to your interests. It will be my great pleasure to help you to enjoy your stay in Japan. So please be my guest!!

Hello! I'm Leandra, and I'm stoked to be your guide as we dive into Japan. With seven years under my belt living here, I've become your trusted source for all things related to exploring this amazing country. Whether it's navigating the bustling city streets or trekking through scenic nature trails, I've got you covered. I have extensive experience guiding excursions through mountains, inner city hidden gems, underground music scenes, and scenic day trips in the vicinity of Tokyo. When I'm not guiding, you can catch me indulging in my hobbies of digging into Japanese history, hitting up local shrines, lacing up my running shoes for a jog, scouting out new restaurants, or hitting the trails for a hike. Originally from sunny SoCal, my roots stretch back to both Japanese and Mexican heritage, with a sprinkle of samurai lineage thrown in for good measure. So, if you're ready to dive into the real Japan, away from the tourist traps, join me for an adventure you won't soon forget. Let's do this!
