Explore three sake breweries in Kobe’s Nada district, one of Japan’s leading sake-producing regions, on this four-hour private tour.
Visit Hakutsuru, Kiku-Masamune, and Hamafukutsuru to learn about traditional brewing tools, cedar-barrel culture, and modern sake production. Compare the flavors and aromas offered by each brewery and discover which styles of sake you prefer.
Brewery-provided samples may be available. If you wish, we can also visit a local sake shop at the end of the tour.

Meeting Point
Hanshin Sumiyoshi Station
- Meet outside the ticket gates at Hanshin Sumiyoshi Station. Please note that this is different from JR Sumiyoshi Station. I will send the exact meeting details after your booking is confirmed.
Hakutsuru Sake Brewery Museum
Visit a museum housed in a former brewery and learn about traditional sake production through preserved tools and displays.
Kiku-Masamune Sake Brewery Museum
Learn about traditional sake brewing, cedar barrels, and the sake culture of Nada.
Hamafukutsuru Ginjo Kobo
See modern brewing equipment through a glass-walled viewing area and compare present-day production with the traditional methods seen earlier.
Optional Local Sake Shop & Recommendations
If requested and time allows, we can visit a local sake shop. Tastings, food, drinks, and purchases are optional.

Tour Important Information
• If you would like pickup at a hotel in central Kobe, please contact me before booking.
• The itinerary or brewery order may be adjusted due to facility closures, maintenance, or temporary closures.
• Actual production activity varies by season and time and cannot be guaranteed.
• Each brewery decides which samples are offered, the serving amounts, and whether tasting is available on the day.
• The route involves approximately three kilometers of walking. Please wear comfortable shoes.
• Guests under the age of 20 may not consume alcohol under Japanese law. Please carry photo identification.
• Guests who will drive a car or motorcycle, ride a bicycle, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or avoid alcohol for health or religious reasons must not participate in alcohol tasting.
• No meal is included, so please eat before the tour.
Normally available Wednesday through Saturday, starting at 9:30 AM. Brewery closing days, public holidays, maintenance, and workshop availability may require changes to the itinerary.

Nada Sake Brewery and Tasting
The Nada area, which stretches from Kobe City to Nishinomiya City, is home to five breweries, and our tour will visit two of them. The sake produced here is made using mineral-rich underground water known as Miyamizu, and is characterized by its powerful flavor and aroma. It's said that the area supplied 80% of the sake consumed in the Edo period. Why not embark on a journey to discover your favorite sake while touring the breweries and learning about and experiencing the history of the city?
