Hello.
I was raised in several places, such as Tokyo, Yokohama, Kobe, Osaka, and Nagoya.
After my professional sales experience for a business machinery company in Yokohama, I pursued an opportunity to teach in China.
I worked as a Japanese teacher to foreigners in Shanghai.
The longer I lived abroad, the more I came to appreciate the unique aspects of Japanese culture. So I started learning English and Chinese to become a bridge to help bring foreign visitors closer to Japanese culture.
I would be horored to be your guide as you tour our historically rich country. I am looking forward to traveling Japan with you. Thank you.

Maru was a fantastic guide and cannot thank her enough for her dedication, patience and openness to accommodate last minute requests. I had a fantastic experience with her as we made our way around Tokyo. She was incredibly helpful with her knowledge as well as adding her own little extra to showcase local hidden gems, recommending places and locations to potentially check-out as we were walking by and always thinking one step ahead. She has a great personality and with the many laughs we had it felt like walking around the city with an old friend. A massive thumbs up as well for being open to join me in a visit to a heavy metal bar in the heart of Shinjuku!! I hope to visit in the future with my wife and son and ask Maru to guide us as well. Maru was our guide and from the initial contact was very responsive and very proficient in English. She communicated well ensuring we were aligned on the itinerary and meeting details. Maru arrived promptly and was very flexible with the itinerary as we journeyed to many locations having arranged tickets for a beautiful traditional music performance which was exquisite. Maru arrived with a rail pass ready for us and led as to a wonderful local restuarant as we watched the owner prepare delicious sushi for us, certainly both experience were off the beaten track. If you are looking for a native tour guide who is extremely patient (including with young kids), flexible, kind and cheerful, then we highly recommend that your group should spend a day or two with Maru in Tokyo. She was such a wonderful resource as we traversed through the city streets and suburbs to reach the places that we really wanted to see, without getting lost. She has great local insights and has the in-depth experience to be able to help your group plan the perfect day out in Tokyo. We spent two full days with Maru. Our two young kids really loved her, and my wife and I did as well! She also was very responsive in helping us plan our itinerary/schedule well in advance of our arrival in Japan, including helping us to purchase some tickets, which was much appreciated. We had a great tour with Maru. She was very helpful especially when one of our group needed urgent replacement of broken spectacles.
