About Tour Guide Masato N.

Hi, everybody,

It’s my great pleasure to take you to fantastic places and explain the interesting aspects of Japan. I love this job!

The scope of my work primarily covers Tokyo and its suburbs, and I offer both one-day and multi-day tours. I can also guide you to destinations outside Tokyo, such as Kyoto, Nara, or Himeji Castle. In such cases, you will need to cover my transportation, accommodation, and meals in addition to the guide fee.

We use a taxi or a private car on my urban tours to maximize efficiency. If you prefer to use a private car, please arrange it in advance. Japanese taxis are clean, driven by professional drivers, and generally more affordable than a private car.

In 2018, I was ranked number one in popularity on this matching site, GoWithGuide, due to earning five-star reviews from many tourists. The tourists say that it is because of my cheerful personality, humorous conversations, and extensive knowledge across various fields. This expertise is grounded in my diverse professional background:

Magazine reporter.

An executive aide to the CEO of an international advertising agency.

Manager of public relations and advertising for a multinational company.

Over forty years of work experience in Tokyo.

Additionally, I sometimes appear as an actor in TV dramas and TVCM. I have also published fourteen e-books available on Amazon, including four in English.

I have suggested some ready-made travel packages, but I prefer to propose a suitable travel plan for you after discussing your preferences.

Please, do not hesitate to let me know what you would like. I’m looking forward to meeting you very soon in Japan.

P.S. I had prostate cancer and after two years of treatment, my strength has almost returned to what it was before I had the disease, so I have decided to resume guiding tourists from July 1, 2024.

Thank you,

Masato

Important

-I can guide you anywhere in Japan if you cover my transportation, meals, and accommodation.

-If you need a private car in the Tokyo area, GoWithGuide recommends booking it directly yourself. If you would like me to handle it, I can do so for a 15% commission on the official price.

-Instead of a private car, you can use a taxi. Taxis are clean, have quality drivers, can accommodate up to four people, and are more affordable.

Energetic guide who goes above and beyond

Masato was an excellent guide and was especially patient with our family of three generations. He shared insights into Japanese culture and history without overwhelming us with information, and he put together a customized schedule that worked well for everyone, even when we had a lot of extra stops. We arranged a driver as well and Masato went out of his way to make sure all the details were in place and that the driver knew where to go. We would never have gotten to see so many things in the short time we had in Tokyo without his help. We are grateful to have shared the day with Masato!

Hi Ashley, Thank you for your kind words to me. I am very pleased to hear that you enjoyed so much with my guide. I will still expect your generation and the kids' generation to come to Japan again very soon. Please enjoy the rest days in Japan. Please say hello to everybody in your family. Masato

My Name is Naoya. I was born in Tokyo in 1952. After my graduation from Keio University, I joined a Japanese bank. Mainly I was assigned international business and stayed in London for three years. At the age of 52, I moved to a Japanese manufacturer company and had worked for 11 years. As a personnel manager, I engaged in hiring Indian graduates. Then for two years, I went to Tashkent in Uzbekistan as a JICA senior volunteer. I taught "corporate finance" at Tashkent Financial Institute in English. I got the guide license in 2017, After I came back to Tokyo, I am working as a volunteer guide, especially in Shinjuku. I hope to create special and deep tours in which tourists are interested but by now they were not able to gain access to. For example; Visit to various Universities, Visit to narrow streets in Tokyo, Visit to feel Edo (Now and Then) My hobby is playing the guitar. I hope we are in peace through music. I am also interested in Art, History and cooking. My major subject is economics and finance.

I’m so excited to have a chance to show you around my favorite spots in Kanagawa prefecture. I was born in Kanagawa. I spent my whole school life, including university, here in Kanagawa. I worked as a high school English teacher here for 40 years. I love Kanagawa so much. We have many interesting tourist spots, like Hakone, Kamakura, Enoshima and Yokohama. I got my tour guide license in English in 2009. I am still an English teacher. To give an interesting and impressive lesson to young high school students, I’ve learnt and gathered many kinds of information. I also have a license to teach social studies, so I have a wide range of knowledge about Japanese culture and history. I’m sure to provide you an interesting tour.

Hello :) I am Macco, a licensed tour guide. I love eating and traveling, so I call myself "EATraveler". I'd like you to experience "tasty (oishi)" Japan, so my tour will be full of nice food. I was born and grew up in Osaka, and now I live in a small fishing town called Manazuru (near Hakone area) after living in Tokyo for more than 10 years. I fell in love with the beautiful scenery of the sea and mountains of Manazuru, and I really enjoy a relaxing life here. So I'd like to show you around this cozy town, which will make you feel nostalgic and relaxed. I also work as an editor & writer. My recent works are mainly books about food and drinks, such as fermented food, dried food, cocktails and bars, Japanese sake, coffee, cheese, tea, as well as agriculture and food issues. Based on this background, I'd like to offer you amazing food experiences in Japan and enjoy EATraveling together :) Looking forward to seeing you in Manazuru!

Hello! I'm Leandra, and I'm stoked to be your guide as we dive into Japan. With seven years under my belt living here, I've become your trusted source for all things related to exploring this amazing country. Whether it's navigating the bustling city streets or trekking through scenic nature trails, I've got you covered. I have extensive experience guiding excursions through mountains, inner city hidden gems, underground music scenes, and scenic day trips in the vicinity of Tokyo. When I'm not guiding, you can catch me indulging in my hobbies of digging into Japanese history, hitting up local shrines, lacing up my running shoes for a jog, scouting out new restaurants, or hitting the trails for a hike. Originally from sunny SoCal, my roots stretch back to both Japanese and Mexican heritage, with a sprinkle of samurai lineage thrown in for good measure. So, if you're ready to dive into the real Japan, away from the tourist traps, join me for an adventure you won't soon forget. Let's do this!
