About Tour Guide Masato N.
Hi, everybody,
It’s my great pleasure to take you to fantastic places and explain the interesting aspects of Japan. I love this job!
The scope of my work primarily covers Tokyo and its suburbs, and I offer both one-day and multi-day tours. I can also guide you to destinations outside Tokyo, such as Kyoto, Nara, or Himeji Castle. In such cases, you will need to cover my transportation, accommodation, and meals in addition to the guide fee.
We use a taxi or a private car on my urban tours to maximize efficiency. If you prefer to use a private car, please arrange it in advance. Japanese taxis are clean, driven by professional drivers, and generally more affordable than a private car.
In 2018, I was ranked number one in popularity on this matching site, GoWithGuide, due to earning five-star reviews from many tourists. The tourists say that it is because of my cheerful personality, humorous conversations, and extensive knowledge across various fields. This expertise is grounded in my diverse professional background:
Magazine reporter.
An executive aide to the CEO of an international advertising agency.
Manager of public relations and advertising for a multinational company.
Over forty years of work experience in Tokyo.
Additionally, I sometimes appear as an actor in TV dramas and TVCM. I have also published fourteen e-books available on Amazon, including four in English.
I have suggested some ready-made travel packages, but I prefer to propose a suitable travel plan for you after discussing your preferences.
Please, do not hesitate to let me know what you would like. I’m looking forward to meeting you very soon in Japan.
P.S. I had prostate cancer and after two years of treatment, my strength has almost returned to what it was before I had the disease, so I have decided to resume guiding tourists from July 1, 2024.
Thank you,
Masato
Important
-I can guide you anywhere in Japan if you cover my transportation, meals, and accommodation.
-If you need a private car in the Tokyo area, GoWithGuide recommends booking it directly yourself. If you would like me to handle it, I can do so for a 15% commission on the official price.
-Instead of a private car, you can use a taxi. Taxis are clean, have quality drivers, can accommodate up to four people including a guide, and are more affordable.

Wagashi (traditional Japanese sweets) Experience
Japanese traditional sweets, Wagashi in Japanese, are very popular among tourists from overseas not only ladies but gentlemen. In a Japanese style tea room, a well trained confectioner for a long time will make Wagashi just in front of you. It is very rare experience.

“ Japan Culminates Our Dream Travel”
Sorry for a late reply. We did not feel well when we got home after this long journey for two months in Asia. However, our trip in Japan culminates our dream travel. We picked up our Cruise line in Yokohama and traveled around Japan in 12 days. We were hunger for more and decided to make a three-day stops in Tokyo. I search well to find GoWithGuide for a full guided one day tour with Mr Masato. Perfect. He is the right person to travel with and he guided us on the spots we like. My husband wants to see the famous bronze statue of Hachico, the famous Akita dog in Shibuya. This town has a lot to offer: famous Shibuya Crossings, which again me husband has to make his own marked on the famous crossings and the food/tour places. Mr Masato knows Tokyo well, at the Meiji Shrines, he shared the Shinto culture, landmarks and proper ways and observing respected places. A very memorable stop. Our final stop was at a Tea time, fancy but worth it. A pastry chef (expert in pastry making and design). Tasted a very selected tea. Mr Masato, thank you for a wonderful time. Edgar & Adora

“All you can eat with Masato san”
Mr. Masato was a great guide today. He showed me around Tokyo with great energy and reliability. We ate at many places and I was very impressed with Japanese cuisine. A highly recommended tour! P S please forgive me Mr Masato for the changes I needed last week. I appreciate paying me back for the tour expenses. Hopefully I made up for this with the food I offered. Thank you.

“Meeting Masato”
It was very pleasant to meet with Masato. He was very kind throughout the tour. We would've liked that Masato went deeper into cultural, geographical, or historical information related to the sights we were seeing. Despite the rain & bad weather, we had a good time with Masato and saw some beautiful breathtaking views.

I’m so excited to have a chance to show you around my favorite spots in Kanagawa prefecture. I was born in Kanagawa. I spent my whole school life, including university, here in Kanagawa. I worked as a high school English teacher here for more than 40 years. I love Kanagawa so much. We have many interesting tourist spots, like Hakone, Kamakura, Enoshima and Yokohama. I got my tour guide license in English in 2009. I am still an English teacher. To give an interesting and impressive lesson to young high school students, I’ve learnt and gathered many kinds of information. I also have a license to teach social studies, so I have a wide range of knowledge about Japanese culture and history. I’m sure to provide you an interesting tour.

Toru I.
Hello to all of you on the screen. My name is Toru Ishii and I am a licensed national interpretater of English language. I have been guiding scrolling around a Japanese landscape garden designated as Scenic Beauty in Yokohama city for the last 2 years. I would like to explain about time-honored Japanese architectures, transfered from Kyoto and Kamakura, designated as Important Cultural Property. I am also interested in Tea Ceremony and in the ritual of serving powdered green tea in the garden. Yokohama opened its door to overseas comers in 1859 after the Meiji Restoration. The port of Yokohama shared about 70 percents of overseas trading in Japan. The main export was raw silk thread. Now the beautiful city of Yokohama has become historically exotic and ranks as one of the most fascinating internationally trading city that attracts many foreign tourists. I am always happy to guide tourists around this historical region and Introduce the delights of Japanese cuisine and Chinese cuisine in China town according to the visitor's requests. Stepping further out from Yokohama, I would recommend Kamakura city, a 20 minutes train ride on the JR Line, where the visitor can feel the fresh ocean breeze. The nearby Zen Buddhist temples and the Great Buddha are main attractions and souvenir shopping adds the excitement. Kamakura was established by the first Shogun, Yoritomo Minamoto, in 1192 and the shogunate government lasted till 1333. He established his Samurai government which ruled over Japan. After arriving at Kamakura or Kita-Kamakura station, the visitor can easily walk around the city. This city is easily accesable by train from Yokohama (less than 30 minutes) and Tokyo (less than 1 hour). As for my background, I have experienced staying in Louisiana in the United States and studied at the university there. Now I am 60 years old and I am still working for a company, while at the same time, I work as a volunteer guide a few days a month in Yokohama city. I like traveling in foreign countries, and have experienced short time staying at several European countries, North America as well as some Asian countries. Last January, I travelled San Fransico and Merced city, California. I would be delighted to exchange cultural experience with many visitors from all over the world. If you happen to be visiting my country and if you are interested , please feel free to contact me. Toru Ishii

Grant A.
Important note: I am currently not able to take new customers after the end of March, 2026. My name is Grant, and I’ve spent over a decade living and exploring Japan. Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, I first came to Japan as a high school exchange student in Inuyama, a historic castle town in Aichi. My love for Japan began early—sparked by childhood games like Pokémon that were released in Japanese before English. That early curiosity grew into a lifelong passion for Japanese language, culture, and history. I hold an N2 on the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, a degree in Asian Studies from a Tokyo university, and I graduated from the Japan Visual Media Translation Academy. I’ve visited all 47 prefectures and explored a wide range of historical sites, shrines, and castles throughout the country. My background in Japanese history helps me provide context that brings depth and meaning to the places we visit—whether it's understanding a centuries-old temple in Kyoto, the story behind a castle ruin, or uncovering the historical layers of a Tokyo neighborhood. If you’re planning to explore Tokyo, here are some tour options to consider: One day in Tokyo? The Ginza Line Tour offers a great introduction to the city’s highlights. Two days? Pair the East Tokyo Tour and West Tokyo Tour to get a well-rounded experience. Interested in anime? The Anime Tour is flexible and can be tailored to match your specific interests. For those looking to go beyond the city, I also offer day trips to Nikko, Kamakura, and other nearby destinations. Full-Day Tour: 40,000 yen (8 hours) Full-Day Tour Outside of Tokyo: 40,000 yen + transportation Feel free to get in touch to plan a tour that fits your interests and travel plans.
