It is said that a worshipper should purify his or her body and soul before going to prayer for Ise-Jingu shrine, the great central shrine of Shintoism in Japan. This pictures are Futamiga-ura seaside sacred place enshrined married rock, wedded rock, called Meoto-iwa. Husband and wife rock situated on the sea. And religious sacred stone is said to be placed further from the rock on the seabed. It is believed Shinto shrine come to this spiritual seaside. The 35 meters long big rope is connecting a husband rock, 9 meters high and wife one, 4 meters high. It ties strongly them. God bless husband and wife forever. This shrine, called Futami-Okitama, enshrines a sacred cave inside red torii gate. The cave is called, Amano-iwaya. In the time of foundation of Japan, the Sun Goddess, Amaterasu-Omikami, hid herself in this cave, so that this world became dark. People asked Goddess come back to this world to give a light. This is an original myth of Japan. It is fun to imagine ancient story on our mind standing near the beautiful seaside with fresh air and blue sky.
