Sawara in Chiba Prefecture retains a good, old atmosphere of the premodern times of Japan. It features old houses and streets alongside a small canal, a huge, prestigious Shinto shrine, and fun shopping at the local Michi-no-Eki (a large shop that sells locally-produced foods and vegetables).

* This tour is not available for a child from 4 to 6 years old due to the child seat limitations.

It’s right next to Tokyo. You might know it as the place where Narita International Airport is located… but actually, it’s way more than that. Chiba has beautiful, historic cities that are fun to walk around. It is also known as a peaceful suburban area where many people spend weekends. I really know how to enjoy them.

I'm proud to be a government-licensed tour guide and local with a great passion for sharing the wonders of the cities of Japan. As I have spent more than 25 years of my life in the Chiba and Tokyo area, I'm quite familiar with many of the attractions the area has to offer. It never stops surprising people, including me, a long-time local, with its blend of traditional and modern elements. I hope you will feel that excitement as well.
