11:30 AM

Meeting Point

We will be meeting at the clients accommodation

- We will be meeting up the clients accommodation unless specified otherwise.

10:30 AM

Umeda train station

We will take local trains to Hyōgo instead of the shinkansen because they are more affordable and allow us to stop along the way if we get hungry, need a drink, or want to rest. The total travel time will be about one hour and thirty minutes. We will take either the JR line or the Hankyū/Hanshin line to Hyōgo, with a transfer at Kobe Station. From there, we will transfer again to reach Himeji Station. Himeji Castle is about a 20-minute walk from the station.

12:00 PM

Himeji castle

As soon as we arrive at Himeji Castle, you’ll find many nearby food stalls and tourist shops to meet your needs. We’ll walk through the wooden gates to the ticketed area of the castle. There are two ticket options: a bundle ticket for about ¥1,120 per adult, which includes entry to the castle and the botanical gardens, or a castle-only ticket for ¥800 per adult if you’re on a tight schedule. Student tickets range from ¥300 to ¥600. Himeji Castle is rich in history, and visitors receive a free booklet explaining its background and construction. An audio guide is also available through the official app. The full castle tour takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, so comfortable shoes are recommended. Please dress appropriately for the season—there is no central heating or air conditioning, so it can be very cold in winter and hot and humid in summer. The **Himeji Castle Nishinomaru Garden (often called the botanical garden)** is a traditional Japanese landscape garden located within the castle grounds. Inside, you’ll find **seasonal flowers and plants**, including cherry blossoms in spring, irises and lotus in early summer, colorful maple leaves in autumn, and plum blossoms in winter. The garden also features **ponds, stone paths, tea houses, and quiet walking trails** designed to reflect classical Japanese aesthetics.

02:20 PM

Nunobiki falls

Nunobiki Falls is a group of four waterfalls located just behind Shin-Kobe Station, making it one of Japan’s most accessible natural sights. It is considered one of Japan’s “Three Great Divine Waterfalls” and has appeared in classical Japanese poetry. The name “Nunobiki” means “cloth-pulling,” describing the waterfall’s flowing appearance. Part of the Rokko Mountains, the area offers scenic hiking trails, bridges, and cooling mist, especially refreshing in summer. The **approximate hiking time at Nunobiki Falls** depends on how far you go, but most visitors spend **about 30 minutes to 1 hour** walking through the main waterfall area at a relaxed pace.

If you continue past the falls toward the **Nunobiki Herb Garden or higher Rokko Mountain trails**, the hike can extend to **1.5–2 hours or more**. The paths are well-marked and mostly gentle, making it easy to adjust the hike based on time, energy, and weather.

04:40 PM

China town/ yakiniku

Kobe’s Chinatown, called **Nankinmachi**, is one of the three largest Chinatowns in Japan. It began developing in the late 1800s after Kobe Port opened to foreign trade. The area is famous for its colorful gates, lanterns, and lively street-food culture, especially pork buns, dumplings, and sesame sweets. Nankinmachi is busiest during **Chinese New Year**, when dragon dances and performances fill the streets. Despite its small size, it attracts millions of visitors each year and is a must-see stop for food lovers visiting Kobe.

Around Kobe and Chinatown, wagyū yakiniku options range from budget-friendly to luxury. **Affordable spots** near Motomachi and Sannomiya offer casual yakiniku with domestic wagyū and lunch sets starting around ¥1,000–¥3,000. **Mid-range restaurants** focus on higher-quality Tajima or Kobe-area wagyū, usually costing ¥4,000–¥6,000 per person and offering better cuts and atmosphere. **Premium yakiniku restaurants** specialize in certified A5 Kobe beef, often served course-style, with prices ranging from ¥10,000 and up. These high-end spots are ideal for special occasions and showcase the best quality wagyū Hyōgo has to offer.

06:10 PM

Shopping districts in or around Chinatown

There are many great shopping areas near Kobe’s Chinatown (Nankinmachi). Right next door is **Kobe Motomachi Shopping Street**, a long covered arcade with clothing shops, souvenirs, cafés, and local specialty stores. A short walk away is **Sannomiya Center Gai**, a lively pedestrian street popular for fashion, accessories, and snacks. For a scenic experience, **Kobe Harborland umie** offers waterfront shopping with large stores, gift shops, and restaurants. You can also explore nearby department-style malls around **Sannomiya Station**. All of these areas are easily walkable from Chinatown and perfect for casual shopping and souvenir hunting.
